Non stopable startup scan!

My brother's xp keeps scanning system before windows starts like the times windows hasnt been shut down properly.now i know ive seen this problem before in here but couldnt find it.

how can i remove it?

Try

chkdsk x: /F /I /X

x which is the drive that it's keep scanning

to make a indek check and fix it...

Nope it didnt work.anymore idea's?
