  1. Thanks ! Worked like a charm, even on a harddrives root /Preben
  2. yeah I know .., but I'm not able to make it work by setting the user "everyone" with full rights. Do you have any examples ?
  3. Okey, this is a hard one. I've been googeling for hours now, with no solution. Through my guide on partitioning RIS (http://www.websikkerhet.com/ris-partitioning.html?⊂=85), I've created a secondary partition. However, that partition does not set any rights for "everyone", or "authenticated users". So, domain users cannot access the drive. Any idea how I can script premissions, like; Everyone, Read & Write Thanks! /Preben
  4. How can I remove Outlook Express through .reg files, or any form of scripting? /Preben
  5. Hi everyone!! First of, thank you all for beeing so helpful. I've been tinkering a bit with registry keys to tune my XP. But that's mostly look and feel. Do you guys and gals, have any good security related registry hacks to make Windows XP more secure? I've started by disabling auto-complete, and other basic stuff. But if you have some reg's lying around, please share ) / Preben
  6. Hi everyone! I've been struggling with this issue for days now, and when I finally found a working solution I decided to write a short article. Apparently, a lot of you guys had the same problem. You will need a third party utility that costs money, but still - it is a working solution to the problem. The article can be found at: http://www.websikkerhet.com/ris-partitioning.html?⊂=85 Please comment. Best regards Preben
  7. Hi everyone. I might have found a solution on how to add multi-partition support in RIS, I only need to make the partition manger install silent. Here is what I've figures out so far. The setup will extract files to the temp folder. It triggers on a /s ( or maybe a /S) switch. Then I write /F:c:\test.ini is says "File not found, or wrong parameter" When the /S is used, it writes a setup.log file in the dir with the following information: [installShield Silent] Version=v6.00.000 File=Log File [ResponseResult] ResultCode=-5 But it's still not installing. Any ideas ?? /Preben
  8. I've been searching around, and I've seen people using bart pe. But how ? Do they RIS a bartPE image, or just use partitioning features of BartPE ? How do I implement those features ?? //Preben
  9. Say you want to install a computer, and that computer has a harddrive of 50GB. Now, you want RIS to create a partition on only 10GB (in other words, don't use the entire harddrive) I've been playing around with the .sif file, and here is what I got: [RemoteInstall] Repartition=Yes UseWholeDisk=No PartitionSize=10000000 This looks correct to me. That it will format a 10GB disk, and not use the harddrives 50GB. But it doesn't work. Any idea guys ??? /Preben
  10. thanks mate! Now it's working ) /Preben
  11. I cannot find it under user configuration (yes, I'm in an AD enviroment). I can find some similarities under Computer Configurations. But only with one value : "Turn off shell protocol protected mode". Is this the value ? Thank you all guys for helping me out on this, and for the quick replies. // Preben
  12. I'm running a large network, and want to limit users to store either on a local disk that is not a system drive, or a network based disk. So basicly just hide the c:\ icon would help alot. Then I'll just add a norun value to registry, and it's locked // Preben
  13. I'm nearly done configuring my RIS. It's a flat image, but during installation a standard "Look for drivers on the web, or continue" dialog appears. Now, If I just click through, It will find the drivers and carry on. What is happening, since this dialog is appearing ? Edited the .sif file like this: OemPNPDriversPath= "Drivers\nic;Drivers\video" And made the $1 folder, with the /drivers folder. Other drivers are installing without any problems. Any ideas ?
  14. How can you hide the C: drive from users ? I've seend some GPO templates beeing made. But aren't there any easier way? // Preben
