  2. The attachment is the files changed in the driver integrated before & after. Maybe it would help sb. to integrated the driver into the os_install CD directly , and not to use the nlite. I have tried to integrated this SATA driver with the FDV'S site guide directly, but i got the failed result. integrated.part2.rar

  7. I downloaded the oldest windows 2000 server fileset in my HD from fdv site long time ago. If you could not find this version in fdv site i thought a new version maybe is coming up. If you wanted to test with the old version you can sent me a mail for it.
  8. Today I have some time to try the old version fdvset for wnidows 2000 server with sp4. Step 1.I overwited the files in \i386 with fdvfileset directly. Then I made the iso file and installed it in vmware. Step 2.After skipped "ntapm.inf" in file copying process , selected the "ftp.mib" direct to virtual CD\i386\ftp.mi_ manually, canceled the "desktop.scf" copying , I installed windows 2000 server with fdvset successfully. IE had been removed and with no any new windows 2000 updates on it. So keep the interest in this old os and make fun in the research.
  9. Just like fileset for windows 2000 pro /XP , any cludes about windows 2003 server? I could find several topics in the search result in MSFN_HFSLIP,but could not get in again.

    FDV fileset for XP

After commented some iteatapi.sys,megaide.sys,... in TXT... & LAY..., the system installed and startup successfully with the last fileset for XP. Found in CMD.EXE windows, the path is not "C:\WINDOWS..." but "%SystemRoot%..." and it make the "ping.exe, ipconfig.exe" fail to run in "c:\>". Fileset 9, all done

Yes, i copied the several dir items in the TXT... & LAY... from the original cd file to try with the hivesys.inf,hivedef.inf in set 9,then the Simp Chi Lang support installed successfully. That is great! Thanks for your fileset 9. But still i don't know much about the agt*.*. I have not rolled back the changes in TXT... & LAY... I am just trying the other software to install in this excited os. Now i just wonder how to research the os(2k/xp/2k3...) component (what is the files,*.inf... useages) and what is the tools FDV used ? Thanks a lot .

    Fileset 9, all done

In the last version of fileset 9,the NONENG.INF has gone. I can use the hfslip 1.7.9 + fdv fileset9 to remove the ie from windows 2000 pro en sp4. But i fail to install the "Simplified Chinese language" support in "Regional Option" that i had installed successfully in the pre_hfslip system. I had installed the "Simplified Chinese language" support in "Regional Option" like this: 1."Start"->"Settings"->"Control Pannel"->"Reginal Options" window. 2."Language settings for the system"->select "Simplified Chinese" 3."Settings for the current user"-> "Your locale(location)"->select "Chinese(PRC)" 4."Language settings for the system"->click "Set default ..." botton -> "Select System Locale" windows pop out ->select "Chinese(PRC)"->click "OK" 5.Click "Reginal Options" window's "Apply" botton. In the pre_hfslip system it would copy the appropriate language support files listed in the intl.inf and install the language support. But now I failed here and the Error window pop: Windows setup could not copy the appropriate files for Simplified Chinese. Make sure you have the correct path name for the files. After some searching in the msfn,I had uncommented all the "agt*.*" in the layout.inf,txtsetup.sif. After some searching in the google , I had copy the origal intl.inf,hivesys.inf,hivedef.inf to overwrite the "sourcess\i386" then make the new ISO to install the os. But still i got the same error windows. Anyone give me some clues about the new language support installation? Thanks.
  14. 1.After uncommented files following the cd can boot normally. ncrc710.sys lp6nds35.sys ql2100.sys 2.In the restart installing process, files following have to skip to continue the installation: comntwks.inf dtcntwks.inf ntapm.inf setup_w.bmp winnt.bmp winnt256.bmp 3.But i get the error message at last: Setup can not set the required windows 2000 configuration information. This indicates an internal Setup error. Contact your system administrator. 4.I can not boot the os normal. Invalid boot.ini. Boot from c:\winnt... In the starting windows window Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:\winnt\system32\config\SYSTEM You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows 2000 Setup using the original Setup floppy disk or CD-ROM. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair. Thanks for your helps.
  15. After dl the new version fileset for w2k srv and del&rename some file,I got the new iso to test. But I failed again. Installation process error: The entry "ncrc710.sys" in the [SourceDiskFiles] section of the INF file is corrupt or Missing. Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit. Thanks a lot for FDV's fileset,it make me dig into the os again.

  17. Tommyp-I am hfsliping the win2k pro en with fdv fileset to remove ie.It took about 25-29mins to finish all the hfslip process. All the drivers and hotfixs in the HF directory just include in the famous auto-list hotfix update site linked by the hfslip.org. glentium-Yes it is. But i can see the winrar would occupy all most all the ram to compress files i selected in taskmgr.exe's windows. That is the reason i raised the topic. Thanks for your reply!
  18. Just want to know if i can run the hfslip.cmd process with the optional setting for its temp files redirected to a ramdisk(in ram) and accelerat the process.
  19. Hope someone can help me: PC is P4(2.4)*1+1G ram. Run the HFSLIP 1.4.2/1.4.3 with the w2k+sp4 . In the taskmgr.exe display window, hfslip_x_x.cmd keep to take up the CPU work-cycle,but the usage of the ram resource is keep in about 20%. I want to know how to accelerate the HFSLIP running process with the reset of 70-80% ram in the PC. Thanks!
  20. With the help in some reply , I try to reslove the problem like this: 1. extract the sp5files.zip to a temp dir. 2. Find and replace the "cdrom_ip.5" with "cdrom_is.5" 3. Make the CD Version 0.5. Now i have installed the system and there is not displayed the "Please insert ... Drive A:" message again. But durning the installation , the CD told me some files can not find out and copy: cpanel_w.chq dtcntwks.inf setup_w.bmp tshoot_w.chq tshoot.inf window_w.chq ntapm.inf comntwks.inf winnt.bmp winnt256.bmp I think that is the samp type error message caused by the wrong version sp5files.zip. The original sp5files.zip is created in windows 2000 Professional Version. Anyone can help me to reslove above error? After the installation i can log in the system as normal, but the startup screen is the Windows 2000 Professional Version. I don't know if the inf was tweaked as a workstation PC . After i change the location to China ,the system copy some files as usual and restart, i find explorer error message. I sloved by hitting F8 in startup screen and logged in the "Last work configuration".
  21. The hfslip.log,wu.txt compressed files. cdv0.3.rarcdv0.1.rar 2006.06.03 1.I downloaded the last version HFSLIP.ZIP(HFSLIP_60528.CMD) from the main page. 2.I slipstreamed IE6.0SP1+DirectX 9.0C+Hotfix to my windows 2000 server with sp4 CD (English version) and installed in the vmware gsx VM successful.I called it version 0.1. 3.After the new system startup I updated the windows system at once. The Windows update told me that a hotfix(KB832483/ENU_Q832483_MDAC_X86.EXE,2003.12) still not to be updated. Then i downloaded the file to my HD and wanted to slipstream to the Version 0.1 CD. Can anyone tell me why an old update(ENU_Q832483_MDAC_X86.EXE,2003.12) is still need to be installed? 4.With the "Remove Internet Explorer from Windows 2000" part direction, I downloaded the "http://www.vorck.com/data/sp5files.zip", I slipstreamed DirectX 9.0C+Hotfix to CD Version 0.2. When the installtion started the screen displayed "Please insert the disk labeled Windows 2000 Professional CD into Drive A: ". This installation is failed! 5.To seperated the problem,I deleted IE6.0SP1+DirectX 9.0C+win,ms,office,update ,HF folder contented only the Hotfix files and made the CD Version 0.3. The installation is failed with the same message "Please insert the disk labeled Windows 2000 Professional CD into Drive A: ". 6.To seperated the problem, I made a new CD only with the "hfslip\source\*.*" files and directory. The installation with this CD is successful. 7.To seperated the problem, I just extracted the sp5files.zip to Fdvfiles folder and made the CD version 0.4. HF, HFCABS folder is all empty. The installation got the same failed message "Please insert the disk labeled Windows 2000 Professional CD into Drive A: ". 8.At last I extracted the sp5files.zip to "hfslip\source\i386" directly and made the CD version 0.5 with the " hfslip\source\*.*" files and directory again. The installation got the same failed message. Anyone can help me? Thanks!
