I have since figured out what went wrong.I found out that to copy music you must use Windows Media Player and the "copy music" funtion. Once I did that everything went fine. Before I did that I was just copying the files onto the CD and it wouldn't play. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for the link to the FAQ page. I am using whatever comes with XP to burn the CD. I followed pretty much what that link says to do. Today I will call the computer place that installed the CD-RW drive and go from there. People have suggested I need to install some other type of software like Nero etc. I think XP uses Roxio.

I am new to XP and CD burning. I tried to burn three CDs and irt seems like the files copied OK but the CDs are not playable. I followed the steps that XP told me.What could be wrong ?
