  1. I have recently added an Xbox 360 to my network and it picks up the media sharing just fine - so it can't be a problem with the mount point. The laptops now pick up the shared music, but do not find any video files. Is there a problem with the vista to vista media sharing for video? Thanks
  2. I've noticed that too! Does the library list display a length for the files that you have problems with? If not, remove them from the library and add them back in manually - works for me.
  3. Hi, I have around 600Gb of media in my WMP library and have set up media sharing. The other 2 laptops in my appartment can see the library (1 is a member of the same workgroup, the other is not), but neither can find any files in the remote library. One laptop and my main tower are running Vista Ultimate SP1, the other laptop is running Home Premium SP1, all are x86. I know that media sharing only works with monitored folders - I have my media on a 1TiB HDD mounted as a folder inside my profile. The library on the main machine automatically picks up new files. Could the mount point be interferring with the sharing? If not, any thoughts? Thanks
  4. ...which brings me back to my original point - how can I upgrade to x64 without buying a new retail copy?
  5. It says that there are no 'Offers' for my Key. I am using a key obtained through Anytime Upgrade. Is there anywhere I can legally download the iso/img for Vista Ult x64?
  6. I got to Vista Ultimate via the rather strangled route of: XP -> Vista Bus -> Vista Ult (using anytime upgrade) I only have the anytime upgrade (32-bit) DVD Would the retail key of Vista Ult x32 be accepted in x64?
  7. I use SpySweeper with Anitvirus - works a treat (apart from email attachment scanning over SSL - but it's a new feature) I prefer this product as spyware and malware are just as troublesome as viruses these days - and this packages deals with it all.
  8. You can use VNC to do the 'mirroring'. http://www.vnc.com/
  9. I upgraded to Vista Ultimate 32-bit a few months ago. I'm an MCT and need to run many virtual PCs simulateously and thus require a stupidly large amount of memory. Thus I have reached the memory limit of a 32-bit system. I would like to 'upgrade' to the 64-bit version. I know that this is a complete re-install with no upgrade route available, but is there any way to upgrade the licence to 64-bit and not have to pay another (somewhat large) chunk of money for a completely new licence? Thanks
  10. They are all ticked - still no cigar...
  11. I have Vista Ultimate with AC3filter installed. When I play an AC3 encoded avi file with WMP11, everything is fine, I get the tray icon and can tweak away until my heart's content. However when I play a DVD, AC3Filter does not appear to be used (no tray icon). Thus my DVD playback is extremely quiet. Any suggestions on how I can get WMP11 to play DVDs using AC3Filter? Thanks
  12. Hi I have 25 machines that require re-imaging every day (I manage a training center and the images have different sets of software) Currently I have to go around to every machine to do this - resulting in me applying 125 images per week! Is there anything out there that will allow me to push the images out from the server to groups of machines rather than pulling the image from the client? Thanks
  13. Got it working! The machines were originally a dual boot, apparently a quick format is not enough - I rebuilt the source machine after performing a full format and it's all working now. Thanks for your help.
  14. Thanks - but the flat file installs fine. I'm completely stumped...
  15. I have a RIS server set up that successfully serves 25 machines. I have created a new image to use with a different set of machines and I keep getting a 'not enough disk space on the selected partition' error. The source machine and the destination machine are the same machine (I'm trying to re-image a machine with an image created from the same machine), and I can't understand why I'm getting this error. Any Thoughts? Thanks
