  1. You might want to check out this: http://www.zepto.com/Default.aspx?page=Not...7xCYxhiJyUzOKma
  2. I tried to install Rational Rose on WinXp Sp2 once, but setup failed with the error: "unsupported os". And yeah I've used it in school and it's in no way a good program to do UML in, it's very bloated and slow.
  3. Just thought I'd tell you how it went... Well, since the warranty was gone I grabbe the nearest screwdriver and poped the case open -> huge amounts of dust inside , then I removed the heatsink from the CPU and found only a small amount of the white stuff left (don't know what it's called in english), and it was just around the edges of the CPU and there was dust in the middle inbetween the CPU and the heatsink! I cleaned the whole thing, put new 'white stuff' and screwed the whole thing together and YAY the laptop started, I rebooted 10 times and every time it started. About the USB port: a little piece of metal from the external montor port was bend on to the USB port and had propably shorted it out, just bent it back and the port is alive again. You have no idea how happy I am to have it working again and not having to spend €€ to fix it... Thanks for your help
  4. Yeah, I guess thats the only thing to do, I can only hope it won't cost too much. Thanks for your help
  5. It worked well untill Windows froze, the next time I got the laptop to start up, the port appeared dead. Am I screwed?
  6. Well, by port being broken I mean that it doesn't function at all. There is no physical damage to it. I tried memorysticks and another mouse, but Windows doesn't find anything. I've tested the sticks and the mouse in another machine so I know they work.
  7. Hiyas I recently bought a Microsoft IntelliMouse, plugged it in and a few minutes later WindowsXp froze, I rebooted and now the laptop won't boot at all. I restarted and restarted and sometimes it boots up ok, even Windows starts, but most of the time it doesn't boot at all. The few times it has started I checked the USB port and it appears to be broken. Since it sometimes boots, I figure that RAM and CPU must be alright, but maybe the motherboard is broken? The warrantys last day was 10th June -05 Any ideas? What does a new motherboard cost? Thanks in advance...
  8. When I copy that and paste it in Notepad the "weird" character turns out to ",," (without the quotes). And no, it doesn't work. I got a hold of a friend that told me to use "CHCP 1252" in the batch and hooray, it worked. Some googling shows that "CHCP 1252" converts it all to Unicode. http://www.cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/1999-02/msg00748.html Problem solved (and yeah, I got the regtweaks to keep it from reappearing) @echo off CHCP 1252 RD /s /q "%USERPROFILE%\Favoriter\Länkar" exit
  9. Hiyas I made a batch file to delete the "Links" folder in IE: RD /s /q "%USERPROFILE%\Favoriter\Länkar" Favoriter\Länkar = "Favorites\Links" in english But it returns the error "File not found", could this be because of the scandinavian characters in the folder name? Other folders with "normal" names are ok to delete.
