  1. Hi, create a *.REG file with this content and apply it: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoRecentDocsMenu"=- "NoRecentDocsHistory"=- It should delete the policy tweak.
  2. Well, I mean to refer to standard executable file type icon instead of command script icon, such as: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\DefaultIcon] @="%SystemRoot%\\System32\\shell32.dll,-3"
  3. That's an interesting tweak, but why want you to use a script icon, wouldn't be more logical to use normal EXE icon instead?
  4. I could help you with tweaks, but first post a more specific info, e.g. what file format containing tweaks you have (if you have any) or something...
  5. To the nlite.inf, other existing hive*.inf, or use some of the unattended methods.
  6. nuhi, thanks for release! Kiki Burgh, you may Cool, does it mean, that the way how the tweaks are applied is gonna be changed (to make bitreg tweaks working)? Or perhaps all the tweaks of a target binary data will be available and nLite will be able to create the whole binary value?
  7. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FindExtensions\Static\WebSearch]
  8. Just apply this REG: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ComDlg32] "NoFileMru"=-
  9. REG files do not support modification of individual bits (I think). You should use the INF, or - if you want to use the tweak for an unattended Windows installation - export the whole modified ITBarLayout binary value (as I said before). For example: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SmallIcons] "SmallIcons"="no" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser] "ITBarLayout"=hex:11,00,00,00,36,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,30,00,00,00,1f,00,00,00,\ 66,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,20,07,00,00,a0,0f,00,00,05,00,00,00,22,05,00,00,26,\ 00,00,00,02,00,00,00,21,07,00,00,a0,0f,00,00,04,00,00,00,21,01,00,00,a0,0f,\ 00,00,03,00,00,00,20,03,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
  10. from where did u get that info? Check the VirtualBox forum. I hope I understood well.
  11. I agree with hulkviper. VirtualBox is good enough to test an nLited os. The only feature I miss is dragging & dropping files, but it's no big deal anyway, trasferring just requires little more clicks. Btw host/guest copy/paste ability should be available in the next version.
  12. np Also check the new RegTweakage.NET project and XPredit.
  13. Did you check Remove Pinned Apps List from Start Panel? Try this REG tweak: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoStartMenuPinnedList"=-
  14. Well, if you are interested in tweaking apps or sites, there's already a list of them on the MSFN: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=1100
  15. I believe that "rip" the tweaks from the nlite.inf file is not so difficult... B)
  16. Maybe the "C:\WINDOWS\AdRemover FoxitReader.reg" parameter needs to be surrounded by quotes? (or remove the space)
  17. Well, if you mean ability to disable service on the Tweaks/Services page, it's ok, because it can be enabled back later. It's not the only service u could "disable" some compatibility with, other is e.g. Printers compatibility vs. Printer Spooler. I don't think so. Anyway, if you think you need to enable Last Access Update, use this REG tweak: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem] "NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate"=dword:00000000
  18. I'm kinda confused now. Are you actually talking about Task Scheduler service on the Components/Services page (i.e. remove = bug) or about Task Scheduler service on the Tweaks/Services page (i.e. disable only = normal)?
  19. @Borec: Could you please describe your proceeding how did you reach that? Maybe it's an "object.enabled" bug or anything like that. @albator: Yes, prefetching depends on the Task Scheduler, but weird is that it could be removed. If I keep Prefetch functionality, the component is definitely hidden for me (except the Task Scheduler service (which can be only disabled)).
  20. Afaik that's the only bitstream tweak in nLite. Weird thing is that it would have something to do with "media templates"... Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams] "Settings"=hex:09,00,00,00,04,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,77,7e,13,73,35,cf,11,ae,\ 69,08,00,2b,2e,12,62,04,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,43,00,00,00
  21. This REG should work... Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CabinetState] "FullPath"=dword:00000001 ...but better is the INF (bitreg included): [Version] Signature=$Windows NT$ [DefaultInstall] Modes=0,1,2,3 AddReg=Tweaks.AddReg BitReg=Tweaks.BitReg [Tweaks.AddReg] HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CabinetState","FullPath",0x00010001,0x00000001 [Tweaks.BitReg] HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CabinetState","Settings",0x00000001,0x00000001,0x00000004
  22. In the same folder like cmdlines.txt, but applying bitregs might not work using cmdlines method. You should rather export the whole ITBarLayout value to a REG file (for cmdlines) or install that INF file via RunOnce. Edit: I solved a similar problem in this topic: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=91394
  23. Beside Classic Menu also some more settings (such as tweaks) are not applied. I spent some time with testing and found out that it's caused by Internet Explorer and/or Internet Explorer Core removal.
  24. This INF could work: [Version] Signature=$Windows NT$ [DefaultInstall] Modes=0,1,2,3 AddReg=Tweaks.AddReg BitReg=Tweaks.BitReg [Tweaks.AddReg] HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SmallIcons","SmallIcons",0x00000000,"no" [Tweaks.BitReg] HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser","ITBarLayout",0x00000000,0x00000006,0x0000000C HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser","ITBarLayout",0x00000000,0x00000012,0x00000014 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser","ITBarLayout",0x00000001,0x00000020,0x00000014
  25. If I do the OEM Preinstall, will I need to kill and restart the explorer process? If so, how do I do that? Nope, I meant if you wanna import that REG to already installed Windows. When the cmdlines commands are executed, explorer.exe is not started yet.
