Driverpack Sound - V5.03.1 & V5.03
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
Well, that's quite understandable... ASUS does NOT provide a control panel... So I hoped the one of IBM would work for both, which is apparently not the case... There's absolutely nothing I can do about this Bâshrat the Sneaky -
I haven't said I would abruptly switch to one method or another! I said I'm considering it to switch to this method, in case it works for all drivers. I will first test this method for a driver before spending hours and days of searching this one tiny stupid thing to get M1/M2 to work... EDIT: forgot to say this: for example Intel says THIS is the way you should integrate these drivers to an (un)attended Windows CD! So it MUST be the solution IMHO... Bâshrat the Sneaky

ERR | BSOD: "0x7E - portcls.sys"
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to alexlory's topic in The General Stuff
No need to shout.. The onboard soundcard of your motherboard is this one: ADI AD1985 SoundMAX 6-channel CODEC So this is the SoundMAX onboard chip. I don't see where and how I could cause this problem... I've simply copied the driver files, no editing... I'm sure I copied EVERYTHING that was required: I just double-checked it to be sure. The reason why you didn't get this error before my last DriverPack is even simpler: your driver wasn't there yet... Can anyone else confirm this? Bâshrat the Sneaky -
Driverpack Massstorage - V5.03
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
Also, i used makecab to create iastor.sy_ in \i386. Can anybody confirm me i've got everything alright ? Thanks. You're doing it alright, but it won't work properly! (it runs in DMA mode, NOT???) As I've been told, there's an older, but properly working, version integrated in Windows XP! Bâshrat the Sneaky -

Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
Please don't delete txtsetup.old! It's a back-up of your txtsetup.sif, BEFORE the DriverPacks were applied. So when you want to use a new version of my DriverPacks, the Method X script automatically recovers the back-upped version! Bâshrat the Sneaky -

Did you have the same problem or no problem at all when you were using Win XP SP1? Bâshrat the Sneaky -
I agree with MCT, this is useless, and at the same time you've broken the rules... Topic closed. Bâshrat the Sneaky, Device Drivers forum moderator

Driverpack Sound - V5.03.1 & V5.03
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
Well.... Shame on me.... I'm uploading the file now.... Bâshrat the Sneaky -
Although I don't know any C# or XML... I would really like to support you in this. XML won't be to hard, if I can get an example, I'll be able to do this. But don't expect extremely fast and huge submits, I want to do everything a bit slower the coming week(s), because I've put very, very much work in the DriverPacks. You can add me to your contact list if you want. Bâshrat the Sneaky

Driverpack Sound - V5.03.1 & V5.03
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
(i guess) you can run it from cmdlines (drivers are already installed at that point of installation). ahh, I see How about running it from "presetup.cmd"? After line "start /WAIT setup.exe %*" and before cleanup, since i'm making one with out the "$OEM$" folder. I would definetely not recommend that! You can try if you want, but I really think it's required for the control panels to install that Windows (the shell at least) has been loaded. Bâshrat the Sneaky -

Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
Everyone who's asking when/how/where they have to run Sound_Control_Panels.cmd haven't properly read the installation instructions! You can find it in the Method_1_V001.htm file! And I noticed these aren't included in the installation instructions of the Method_2_V002.htm file... Will be updated ASAP! Bâshrat the Sneaky -
Driverpack Massstorage - V5.03

After is better, because nLite edits the txtsetup.sif too, not always, but it's better to use my DriverPacks afterwards. That way you won't have to redo nLite every time: the included batch files will make a back-up of your txtsetup.sif file! Bâshrat the Sneaky -
Driverpack Massstorage - V5.03
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
So you only want to use DriverPack MassStorage? That's possible! Take a look: Method 1 1. Complete everything as outlined in the installation instructions 2. Delete the folders L and S in X:\UWCD\$OEM$\$1\Drivers\ (==> unnecessary drivers are deleted) 3. Only add the required entries to your winnt.sif, these are the ones that start like this Drivers\M\... 4. If you have to use the dosnet.inf file: there are no changes to the entries you have to add to this file! Method 2 1. Complete everything as outlined in the installation instructions 2. Delete the files DriverPack_LAN.7z and DriverPack_Sound.7z in X:\UWCD\OEM 3. Remove the entries that point to DriverPack LAN and Sound in your presetup.cmd (X:\UWCD\I386\presetup.cmd) This will do the trick! Bâshrat the Sneaky -
Driverpack Massstorage - V5.03
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
is this relate to iastor.sys ? so it's better to remove that iastor.sys line ? TIA Yes, I'm afraid I left this line inthere wile it shouldn't be there... I QUADRUPLE checked it... :'( I really don't understand it's still inthere... I'll update it as soon as possible! (Then you will notice the 'power' of the new structure Just click the Updater.cmd... ) Bâshrat the Sneaky -

What's BPFTP? Bullet Proof FTP server, it's a open source FTP server program Bâshrat the Sneaky Not exactly open source, but it is an FTP server Well, I thought it was I didn't look up it or something... Maybe it once WAS OSS? Bâshrat the Sneaky -
Did you add the correct entries to your winnt.sif? I see you added DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore, but that isn't sufficient! You should also add the OemPnPDriversPath, as well as OemPreInstall=Yes! Probably you know about this, but please read the guide! Bâshrat the Sneaky
