  1. Thanks for your fast reply sadicq ( you always do). I will test tonight after supper. Let you know quick.
  2. I've got the same kind of problem like azaze1, Stalkie, 5861king and bober, my install goes on till program 8 with no problems at all. But then it retry's my second install. (.Net Framework) and hangs there ... then all my first 8 programs get a Red (they where green before) cross exept program 1 that one stays Green??? But the first 8 did install on my comp.( i've started every program and it works fine ). So this problem is not the same, but lets say its in the same categorie. I will post my log file and screenshot later. Hope this helps to solve it. Pictures: http://rapidshare.de/files/25920759/WPI_loops.doc.html Logfile: http://rapidshare.de/files/25920824/WPI_Log.txt.html As you can see in the logfile .Net Framework returns many times for attempting to install, but the logfile says all installs are oke.
  3. Yeah that could be the problem...wil test it in my spare time. I let you know sadicq.
  4. Strange but without "cmd /C" it didn't work at all. Previous version of WPI had no problem with it.
  5. Feel like a real noop.....wrote taskill in stead off taskkill (must have wrote it to quick in my sush to test it). Shame on me , any way thanks for your command lines to make them both work....taskkill an xcopy. Thanks sadicq.
  6. Thanks for this...explaining how it works, seems that my "problem" is solved now.
  7. Are you using XP home? Taskkill is only on XP Pro. On XP home you have to use tskill. No I use the Pro version.
  8. Just Install the new 5.0.1 an looked on te root of C:\ for the WPI.log.txt and I noticed that some apps dit not install correct. I understand that the code: (returned code 0) means that the install was done without errors, but I also have other codes. So my question is where can I find a log code index so I know what happened. Later today I wil post my codes (now I'm at work).
  9. Thanks sadicq. I wil test it today....can you tell me the difference between %cdrom% and %wpipath% please........
  10. This one doesn't work. Code you gave me for xcopy that works perfect. Whats the different between %cdrom% and %wpipath% in the example config Mritter an Kel use these different paramaters I use %wpipath% Like Kel maybe thats why taskill doent work? Somebody ?????
  11. Thanks mate for your fast reply, I wil try it tomorror......I'll let you know the result.
  12. Can someone tel me what I am doing wrong. Maybe i need to make a command file of it an then : cmd3[pn]=['%cdrom%\\Install\\Apps\\WindowBlinds5.0\\xcopy.cmd'] cmd3[pn]=['%cdrom%\\Install\\Apps\\ZoneAlarmPro.6.1.737.000\\Taskill.cmd'] Al works fine just these two thing I need to fix, sure that someone cantell me what i'm doing wrong.
  13. Thanks for all the work you did. After playing around with it .......it works!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many thanks from me. Haleluja!!
  14. I've tried different things, but no result. You said: Please do this, and I hope it fits my needs. thanks anyway for your time.
  15. I wil be very happy with the release too ...no doubt. I'll wait till version 5. Clock is tikking.....1 day to go.
  16. Thanks for your fast reply. Yesterday I have tried to test these two methods but always ended up with the file that runs and couldn't delete itself. And when I make a copy of the originall uninstaller ......the starting path of the uninstaller wil be where that uninstaller is placed in, so no uninstall of the program (it does deletes itself after execute, including the folder I put it in, so that's a start). For example I made a folder Newsleecher with the originall uninstaller in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs: After the execution the folder is gone, but the program didn't uninstall at all ? When I replace the originall Uninstaller.exe with Uninstaller.Ink the program unistalls oke, but the folder is not removed. AutoIt scrips I don't know how to use, tried .....but I dont understand the scrip and it gives errors at many lines. So I started with winrar sfx but like I said above the sfx file couldn't delete ítself after running, and don't know how to execute a delete.cmd after extracting ( maybe stil it won't remove itself because the delete.cmd must be in the same folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Newsleecher\). Sorry maybe I come over like a noob, but solving this problem is very important for me. Do I need a program like "Wise for Windows Installer" to edit the installer ??
  17. Very nice sadicq , wil test it after work. Anyway it looks very easy to use, many people wil start using this now I think.
  18. After installing with WPi (with admin rights) and adding users accounts to it all of the software installed in C:\Documents and Settings\administrator\Start Menu\Programs are no longer visual in my new account in start\all programs. I made a bath file that runs after WPI has done it's job and it copies al folders in C:\Documents and Settings\administrator\Start Menu\Programs to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs so they are visual now for all accounts that wil be made after installing with WPI. Is there a way to edit the original uninstaller (and overwrite the uninstaller located in Program Files with a winrar sfx) so when unistalling the program, the folders I have added in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs wil be deleted to? Please someone help me !
  19. thanks Kel for your fast reply, it's all clear now.
  20. I hope Kelsenellenelvian or Mritter can give me a clear answer. Anyway thanks for your reply, you could be right (sounds logical). Thanks
  21. Is the new version of WPI stil installing as Administrator or is it possible to make a All User install. Just wondering Kel... 3 day to go and then....no more sleep. LOL Thanks Mritter for this nice job.
