  1. i keep getting ntdll.dll errors when i click on hard drives, internet explorer, basically anything. i have had this problem before (like years ago) and forgot what the deal-e-o is. my desktop disappears for sec or two and then half of my system tray icons disappear but still running. a fix for this would be most appreciated. sometimes i get uxtheme.dll errors too. is it quit possible that my patched uxtheme.dll is the problem? installed wrong, incompatible version with sp2, etc? my other computer is working fine with this patched uxtheme. probably got installed correctly. who knows. what i have tried: replacing ntdll with i386 one in safe mode with registering it. didnt help cursed at screen. didnt help thanx

well it wouldnt be so bad if it just kept me from patching the uxtheme.dll file with a patch. if i even tried to change anything in display properties that has to do with screensavers, themes, appearence, icons, etc.... i would get run_dll errors and system would lock up and then flash back to my baby blue looking theme. i might have been able to fix by reinstalling gart and display driver but nahhhhh. sp2 caused such enough hassle with a running system that it got UNINSTALLED until i do a fresh install. everthing is back to order now since i uninstalled from add/remove. sorry microsoft, but gotta have my themes.......... i am sliptreaming it though........so, hopefully this is the standard sp2.

the only flaw i have is that it RUINED my themes. i cannot change themes to even classic windows appearence. i have tried everything that i could come up with to fix it but cant. i am stuck with a baby blue looking theme and its disturbing. sniff...sniff..... other than that the firewall works wonders, pop-up blocker even blocked microsoft stuff so its working awefully well to. i would give this sp2 a A+ but i cant. it ruined my uxtheme.dll file and/or something else.
  4. i have searched root drive for a uxtheme.dll file and doesnt exist. under services there isnt a service for themes. under display properties there isnt a section for themes. BUT, i can type in themes at run command and theme window appears. did i not install this during install of windows? what do i need to add this service running so i can add themes? i used uxtheme patch for my xp puters and works fine. is there a patch for 2000 pro?
  5. If you got it last week, then its SP1a, which removes JavaVM. There was a thread I saw this week which showed how to get the full 3809 build and 3810 update put together in one package. oops my bad.....a**-backwards i was thanx for clarification......
  6. i slipstreamed sp1a into windows disc and after installing windows @ wu site it says i need to install the vm update.....according to your suggestions you say not nesc. to download.....hmmm.....microsoft must have given me sp1 instead........just downloaded it a week ago........anyhow thanx for links to updates
