  1. This is the command that I use to install a USB printer. In this case it is an HP1018 rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /if /b "HP LaserJet 1018" /f HPLJ1018.INF /r "USB001" /m "HP LaserJet 1018" I run this command in the same folder that the drivers are in. Works like a charm.

    Custom MS Gina

We already have a web page that the user can use to reset their password through. How hard is it to add a link on the Windows login (or the GINA) to open that web page. I looked through what you wrote, and it seems easy enough. Are there any step-by-step instructions out there on how to do this?
  3. It needs to look like this: [GuiUnattended] EncryptedAdminPassword = No AdminPassword = "test" AutoLogon = Yes AutoLogonCount = 2 TimeZone = 010 OEMSkipRegional = 1 OemSkipWelcome = 1
  4. I am pretty sure that you need to put quotes around your commands, like this: "regedt32 /s AdminStartMenuIcons.reg" Once you do that everything should work just fine.
  5. We are working on a custom MS Gina. It is mostly done, but I have a question. I would like to have a link on the login screen that will allow the user to open a specific web page (a web page that will allow the user to change their password). Is that possible?

  7. I have figured out the solution to this problem. If you are interested you can drop me an email and I will send you some info on the process...
  8. I have noticed when I don't integrate my drivers all at the same time I get those crazy errors when windows is installing (only in the dos portion of the install). I have found that when I integrate all the drivers at the same time I don't get any messages.
  9. I was having the same problem that others in this thread had discussed. After much trial and error I finally headed over to www.driverpacks.net and found the solution. I downloaded the "Audio pack A" and the base files and followed the directions provided (I made sure to use method 2). Everything worked great! I am amazed! Let me know if you have any ?s...
  10. I have been researching and looking around everywhere and I have not been able to find a solution to my problem. So here I go! I would like to have a hard drive that has two partitions. The smaller partition has the Unattended WinXP files on it. When that drive is set as active it installs Windows XP onto the larger partition. That way I can reinstall windows whenever I need to without a disk. After much research I found that I had to install WinPE on the smaller partition so Windows will install (it has to be in a 32 bit environment to install). I did so with the following thread's help: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=14316 I installed winpe on the smaller partition and copied the winxp files to that same hard drive. I have used variations of this code: X:\WinXP\i386\winnt32 /syspart:c: /tempdrive:c: /unattend:winnt.sif, to try and get windows xp to install. It copies some Windows files over to the larger hard drive. I reboot the machine and it looks like Windows is installing. It scans the drive, copies a bunch of files. The computer reboots and starts the same process over of scanning the hard drive. I eventually get a message that says that there is not enough memory to complete the windows install. Any help or guides that anyone knows about would be greatly appreciated. 11. I have been trying to figure out how to create a user with WIHU with only the command line. I just want to type a big long script and have it create several users with all of the trimmings. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to do it. I have tried to follow the directions and I could not get throught it. Any help that you guys can help me I would be very happy.
  12. The reason that the resolution is so small is because VMWare uses a graphics driver that Windows does not natively support. The way that I found around this same problem was to intergrate the VMWare drivers into my ISO. As you probably know, you can install vmware tools and you can do all kinds of cool stuff after it is installed. I found the VMWare tools ISO (it was in the VMWare program files directory) and I found all of the drivers. I then used nlite to intergrate them into my Windows ISO. The only problem that I found is that during the installation process a "Found New Hardware Wizard" appears (for three different devices). As far as I can tell, you cannot silently install VMWare drivers. But after a few clicks you can have the resolution set it according to the winnt.sif specs. The resolution does not change until windows reboots (right before it runs the GuiRunOnce). This method installs the correct driver, and then Windows can change the resolution like it is supposed to.
