  1. Just a quick note a found on another forum... I tried to get this installer working for hours... until I noticed this: If you copy/paste the xml from Adobe's PDF, you'll end up with curly quotes. Replace the curly quotes (”) with straight (") ones! Indeed... Now everything works perfectly
  2. Has anobody tried adding this hotfix (KB902400) to an Unattended XPSP2 install CD/DVD? In my case, it breaks up windows - badly (IE doesn't work, updates won't work etc). I understand your points about it "not being MS's fault if somebody has messed with their registry and/or ACL" and the hotfix then creates problems. As I see it, MS managed to release a BUNCH of hotfixes that work perfectly when slipstreamed into a XP SP2 media, this is the first to FAIL miserably. Oh well, maybe they'll release a new version of KB902400. Soon, I hope - I like to keep things neat, so even ONE hotfix that can't be applied into installation media is ONE too many for me!
  3. Anyone else noticed that MS05-51 might be broken - badly? I've gotten no problems when installing it from Windows Update or manually, but adding it to my Unattended XP SP2 install DVD breaks everything! There's been some reports that it can break stuff if you've changed your ACL to Com+ components. Errors include: Windows update doesn't work Internet Explorer doesn't work the firewall might go offline by itself But in my case, when adding the MS05-51 hotfix with nLite to my install DVD, things go horribly wrong: Internet Explorer breaks, and therefore Windows Update breaks. There is no way of fixing it either... The only thing that works is to keep MS05-51 away from the Unattended installation and install it either manually or through WU after everything is finished. Anyone else notice similar effects? Oh yeah, the MS05-51 is KB902400.
