  2. 1. Is there a way to prevent the outlook express shortcut from being created when a new user logs onto the machine? 2. The version information that gets painted on the desktop when you set that value in the registry, is there a way to customize this information. 3. I turn off system restore via system properties, prior to sysprepping but after the machine is sysprepped and ghosted onto another machine system restore is back on, is there a way to keep system restore off.
  3. If you were sysprepping a machine, sysprep automatically copies the administrator profile as the default user profile.
  4. Getting broken program shortcuts when logging as a user other than administrator on an nlited windows xp with service pack 2 that was sysprepped. The only thing that was customized on the administrator profile was the wallpaper, the location of the my documents folder, and internet explorer home page.
  5. Umm... I just downloaded the evaluation version of IBM ultra image and its very complicated.
  6. Yes I do this for a company and in regards to buying additional software I don't if its in the budget this time. I was wondering if there was a way to do it with nlite.
  7. Did you create these driver packs or did you download them, if you created them could you share how you created them and managed to successfully intergrate them into nlite. I had some of the drivers working, but then none of the drivers were working correctly.
  8. Here is what I'm trying to do I am doing work for a company who uses IBM Laptops and they would like a universal image meaning driver wise that can be loaded on all the models they have. The steps I'm looking to do are as follows. 1. Using nlite create a custom os disk, with all the drivers of all the models of IBM laptops they have now mind you alot of them use the same drivers. 2. Once the customized os is successfully created according to spec, the laptop's hard drive which I am using to test the unattended os installation will be ghosted and hopefully become a base image for all IBM laptops and maybe even desktops in the company. 3. That base ghost image will then be used to load and/or reload existing and new laptops. Your assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Is that a server based script or local??, Also it may be a good idea to download the drivers to a repository someplace on your network just to avoid the manufacturers site being down. Looks like a good idea though.
  10. I'm trying to drivers for IBM laptops and so far it isn't working out to well for me and I think I have about 20 drivers.
  11. or at least disabling by default with the option of re-enabling, incase.
  12. Hey anyone here know of a way to remove the offline files tab and disabling the functionality, because we don't need it here.
