  1. Did you run the WAIK msi after installing BDD. Its in the WAIK subdirectory.
  2. There are no inf files in driver.cab. They are on your XP CD in i386\*.in_. You extract the *.sys and *.dll files from driver.cab and overwrite with *.sys and *.dll from sp2.cab. You copy the files named i386\*.in_ to the inf subdirectory of your XPE plugin. Run expand on the copied *.in_ files Note the [..] in the instructions you reference means the parameter is optional not that you should include them in your typed parameters. So you don't specify ["c:\sl"] but "c:\sl". Directory c:\sl must exist and specifies the output directory of the expand. At the command line type: expand /? to find the expand parameters.
  3. PC-Cillin have a beta program running for Vista. The current version from www.trendbeta.com works fine on 5472.
  4. Its part of the BDD which is freely available from the connect web site. You will need to register to get immediate access. Read post #6 in this thread for details: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=76719
  5. Why don't you just do what was suggested in @fizban2's post. All you need to do is register to get download access.
  6. Why are you even considering installing Vista if you have not followed your own link. A 2 minute read found: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview.mspx
  7. BDD 2007 Beta 1 is available for download from Connect in the Vista downloads section. It was added on 6/7/2006. Its labelled build 5384 so I presume its based on Vista Beta 2.
  8. Front channel only sound is better than no sound at all! Just running setup.exe elevated will not get the drivers to run on Vista 64 which was what the original poster was asking for.
  9. You have to run the command prompt as an administrator - right click on the shortcut and choose run as administrator. Just starting the command prompt when you are a computer administrator is not the same.
  10. You have to disable driver signing before installing the beta drivers. Run from an elevated command prompt: bcdedit -set nointegritychecks ON It has to be run from an elevated prompt. Reboot then install your unsigned drivers.
  11. Beta 2 is 5384.4 Its available on Connect to registered beta testers.
  12. Problems with anti virus software and beta versions of Microsoft OS's is not new to Vista. Exactly the same sort of problems happened with beta versions of XP.
  13. There is both a 32bit and a 64bit download. I have tested both on an AMD FX-55. Remarkably the 64bit version seems to have less issues with driver incompatabilites. The creative beta audigy drivers only work for me on the 64bit verison.
  14. ximage 5270 is available in the 5270 DDK.
