  1. If you like to test, you can try the latest WMP test build provided in the Test Releases thread. But I'm warning you: that build is completely untested so the odds it won't work are high (sysprep or normal install).
  2. When you say "just like for Windows 2000", I assume you tried it with a different CMD since Windows Messenger isn't part of Windows 2000. For Windows 2000, you need to provide the full path to advpack.dll: %windir%\system32\advpack.dll But it should work without path for Windows 2003... Or am I wrong?
  3. Oh, so *that's* sysprep... Thanks for the explanation.
  4. Putting the WMP10 installer in HFSVPK_SW will propably fix your problem. I just can't say for sure because I don't know what sysprep does (let alone "reseal with sysprep"). Edit: And what if you use the WMP10 addon? Does it still happen then?
  5. What's a "rescell with sysprep"? Anyway, HFSLIP renames wmp10.inf (and all other infs in the WMP10 package) and you won't find it back on the hard disk after the final reboot of Windows setup.
  6. From your previous posts, it's obvious that Symantec's Livestate Delivery uses DOSNET.INF when installing Windows. DOSNET.INF-based installs can't be used when DirectX9 is slipstreamed (because of mpeg2data.ax) and I suppose the same goes for LegitCheckControl (legitcheckcontrol.dll). MSIE6 should be fine but I'm not sure of that. Please follow Super-Magician's advise and let us know how it goes...
  7. I need a rest... That's what I meant to refer to...
  8. On Windows XP, when you remove all instances of "HIDE" from sysoc.inf, you'll see two references to Windows Messenger in Add/Remove Programs. They both need to be uninstalled to get fully rid of Windows Messenger. I think the second inf is called ims.inf but don't take my word for it. I need to investigate this again just like I did a couple of months ago.
  9. I do know though that that line you got there is not enough. There are two things to be uninstalled but I can't remember what the other one was. I used to make silent installs a couple of months back and I was removing Windows Messenger from Windows XP right before installing MSN Messenger 7.5 in one of the packages but since I couldn't find a way to shush Windows Update I decided to drop it... and now I can't find it back. It was for the second Windows Messenger entry in Add/Remove Programs.
  10. Oh, you wanted it removed... You shouldn't edit posts, you know...
  11. I'd rather call it backdoor.MS.msmsgs I'll take a look at Windows Messenger and if it doesn't take too much time to implement I'll ask TommyP for permission. But don't keep your hopes up... @fdv: It was a joke inspired by the fact you got a date wrong. Sorry if it didn't come across like that.
  12. No stability problems. I don't notice a difference in the audio quality and the video is the same as before too (good picture with post-processing enabled).
  13. Haha... I wish... No. Currently, files in APPREPLACEMENT are copied over into I386. I guess it could be expanded to allow replacing files in subfolders of the I386 folder (though I can't think of a practical use for that).
  14. The latest final version is 60317 (March 17). You can also use the latest test build (60320a) which is stable as far as I'm concerned.
  15. @Super-Magician: He finally changed "Windows Server 2002" to "Windows Server 2003"... @TAiN: Right now, yes. I was thinking of asking TommyP to allow subfolders in APPREPLACEMENT.
  16. Just so we're on the same level... HFEXPERT\CODECS = copied over; txtsetup.sif & dosnet.inf updated; all files except exe and cpl registered HFEXPERT\WIN = copied over; txtsetup.sif & dosnet.inf updated HFEXPERT\APPREPLACEMENT = copied over I'm gonna add *.CPI to the list of files not to be registered in the HFEXPERT\CODECS section just in case people still put those files in there.
  17. For those using the test builds... A problem was introduced yesterday that prevents subdirectories of HFEXPERT\WIN\SYSTEM32 (eg, DRIVERS) from being processed. That's fixed in 60319a.
  18. Heh... It appears I was finally able to tackle this ffdshow/DivX/3ivX problem on my system... ReClock DirectShow Filter 1.7 beta 4 This thing replaces "Default DirectSound Device" (whatever that is) and now everything plays back without hiccups... so far.
  19. Did you read the first part of the message you're quoting me from?
  20. Well... I tried the other ffdshow installers and I couldn't find a single one that does good. Meanwhile, I downloaded TCPMP 0.72RC1 and I started to play with it. I found you can change the brightness, color, etc, and there's even a page where you can set keyboard shortcuts for all sorts of functions. F11 now toggles Full Screen. I also found out you can skip forward and backward using the arrow left & right buttons... really cool. Just one problem: when it's playing, I can't type in another program because hitting any keys that are assigned to functions in the player causes the player to react (I can't type a space, for example, as it plays/pauses TCPMP).
  21. With Windows XP, you need Windows Update Agent 2.0, Package Installer and Windows Genuine Advantage. You can find the download links on my site. The first two go in the HF folder and the latter goes in HFCABS.
  22. Glad we could fix this within 24 hours, hahaha!
  23. You can use the WMP10 addon by RyanVM. It even contains Windows Media Connect 2.0 and several hotfixes: http://ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=879 I was working on this myself about a week ago and I got a rough draft going (for implementation into the HFSLIP script) for Win2K and WinXP. It integrates WMP9/10, WMP9/10 codecs and the Classic skin if it exists in the source. I just didn't have the time to continue testing it. The wmp6 codecs are on my to do list too.
  24. Depends on what didn't get slipstreamed and which update site you were using. The link in TAiN's post or in my sig explains which components are needed for which service (Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Office Update or Windows Update Catalog).
  25. HFAAO is parsed before the source gets copied. You can try a few CPL addons if you like just to see if a fix is needed there as well. But, as said, it's too complicated to do the _x fix for addons. Version 18h debuts the _x fix for CPI files in HFEXPERT\WIN\SYSTEM32. Edit: it shouldn't be an issue for addons; CPL and CPI files are named differently so there's nothing for Windows setup to get confused with.
