Usually you can uninstall KB971033 and then hide the update, and thus never have to worry about it again. I "uninstalled" KB971033 from the "Installed Updates" screen as usual but....I am pretty sure KB971033 simply disappeared from the "Installed Updates" screen WITHOUT ACTUALLY UNINSTALLING. It never popped back up as an update to hide. Very unusual.
How do I add a .reg file to my installation files? I made a .reg file, that has all the services the way I want them. I did not see the option in nlite, besides modifying all the services again in nlite.
which service is needed to share files over a wireless home network? I accidently turned it off I think.... Title Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on. --Zxian
Is it true, that unlike previous windows, in which a bunch of files were copied from the installation cd to the hard disk drive, that in Vista during installation a prefabricated image is copied to the hard disk?
yeah this is exactly the answer I was looking for. Does everyone agree that in spite of setting automatic updates to manual, the windows update site will not work?
If I set the Automatic Updates service to manual, does the Windows update website still work? I know that Automatic Updates service must be turned on to access the website (it seems wierd that the Automatic Updates service must be on, even though you are manually installing updates. Thats microsoft for you).
It seems to me that Vista will have a ton of junk in it. I hope some enterprising young inidividual will create a hybrid of XP with some of the few good features from Vista.
This never works for me. Even if I'm logged on as the Administrator, I can never delete the other account that XP forced me to make during installation.
Is there a way to have ONLY the Administrator account? whenever I install XP pro, it forces me to pick a username. Granted this username has aministrator privelages, but I want only the TRUE 'Administrator' account.
