Thank's that's done it. I installed every possible thing from windows custom update last week, and I was sure like before it included NET framwork.
Either it did and thats installed over it and fixed it.
Or I was not prompted / Windows custom update no longer displays NET framework, so you have to manually go find it (which clearly most general users aren't going to do)!?
maybe the install failed or something corrupted. but glad to see all's working B)

When you have both sata and ide drives connected it will read the ide drives 1st... i have a 200gb maxtor sata drive as well and a 4gb seagate hdd (just for some standalone apps) and if i leave the ide drive connected it will show it as c: my 20 gig partition from sata as d: and my 180 gig partiton as e:
unplug your ide drive when installing xp and your sata will be registered as the c drive

Of course
brilliant
Vista has many "old" icons. You will not be unemployed.
hehe i hope it doesn't but then again i hope it does...
reasons for doesnt: its about time microsoft got their finger out
reasons for do: xpero has done a great job with xpize and its way better than what microsoft could have done... so i hope his work can continue

@Famer:
Thanks for comments. A Vista VS won't be included because XPize enhances XP look, doesnt try to change it.
Off topic but... if Vista came out and had some old looking icons would u make a Vista pack to make it look Vistaish ?

or if ur too lazy 2 read the neowin topic
basically the xpize updater isnt what it might sound... after visiting windows update and installin hotfixes your files will be modified, as such the changes xpize makes will be lost... but the xpize updater is made for that reason, it will check the system files, if resources have been made "old skool" windows 9x looking again then updater will sort em, and your new patches will still be there but with the nice new shiney xpized look
in aswer 2 ur questions yes all patches will work and so will windows update and microsoft update

I don't delete it i just go into TweakUI and choose not to show it on welcome screen... that way if it ever does need it it can find it but it wont make me have to click my username 2 logon

as Xpero says check the display bit depth... it could also be due to running it in a virtual machine

edit: nm sorted it... didnt realise the download link appears at top after you click the choice of xpize you want

thanks for translations klasa.
something tries to create a shortcut to the clicked icon into the start menu when clicking one of these icons.
After Uninstalling XPize the problem is fixed.
I've already installed XPize again but now I can't find that beautifull start menu.
First install:
I selected all the 3 skins: Royale Lite VS, Royale IIU VS and Royale VS.
Second install:
I selected only the Royale VS skin.
But now I can't find that start menu @ the 4th tab of the Display Properties. I guess it's called something like "design" don't know that exactly cause I'm running XP Pro Dutch.
Its royale lite

I think it's a cleverly thought name (Expanding Horizons gimimck) but it's not really what was expected... Yet another software name everyone is going to be confused about the pronunciation lol
Edit:
Windows Vista BetaBeta 1, targeted at developers and IT professionals, will be available by August 3rd 2005.
Hmmmmmmmmm..... hope it isn't changed to that deadline.. as i was erading that they are still planning for 27th july release

1) no problem
2) slipstream = another term for the i386 patching feature on the uAE installer
3) It should be stable as it is only editing resources not the actual code
4) I don't know for sure... unless someone can make a x64 compatible resource hacker
5) No because of reshacker not workin on x64 :(
hope this helps

it might work if you slipstream it into it using x86 windows. because reshacker wont run on windows x64

don't know if this is a problem with my system alone (will need other peeps 2 verify as well) but the timezone bitmap isn't working properly for me.

XPize Settings.exe - Application Error
in XPize
Posted
yeah overriding the default error msg with a infobox with a yes/no box to go to the .net framework download page would be a good idea.... but i dont see .net framework 1.1 in microsoft update no so maybe it was just a temp error
