  1. Hi, For the uninstall problem, try to remove the 61, 62 and 63 units from the "removeapp" list (so they will NOT be excluded). Also, I don't know if the 69 and 75 units can be safely excluded. For the language problem: I have a French version of Nero. When I install without the INCLANGUAGES parameter, two languages, French and English are installed. So you could try without the INCLANGUAGES= parameter, if you want to have Greek and English languages. After install, open "Nero ControlCenter 4" and change the language from "Greek" to "English".
  2. I think Microsoft is aware of the problem. There is now a "compatibility patch" that will "temporarily" undo the effect of the previous update : Web developers get a respite on IE changes --------- Compatibility Patch – To help enterprise customers who need more time to prepare for the ActiveX update changes discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 912945 and included in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS06-013, Microsoft is releasing a Compatibility Patch on April 11, 2006. As soon as it is deployed, the Compatibility Patch will temporarily return Internet Explorer to the previous functionality for handling ActiveX controls. This Compatibility Patch will function until an Internet Explorer update is released as part of the June update cycle, at which time the changes to the way Internet Explorer handles ActiveX controls will be permanent. This compatibility patch may require an additional restart for systems it is deployed on. For more information, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 917425. --------- The previous KB912945 update is not available any more in Windows Update. More informations here : Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 917425 The compatibility patch is available here : Compatibility Patch for Internet Explorer for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (KB917425)
  3. Yes ! You SHOULD uninstall it ! The problem occurs only if the patch IS installed !! (thanks Microsoft ! ) It is NOT a critical update and NOBODY needs it ! It is only a way to bypass the EOLAS patent !!
  4. I think the best solution is to uninstall the KB912945 update (via the "Add/Remove Programs" icon in the Control Panel)...
  5. Hi, As far as I know, there are these kind of problems if the KB912945 update (from Microsoft) is installed in the computer. If it is installed, you have to "enable" manually the ActiveX control before it can be loaded ..... ---------------- The following issues occur on Web sites that do not use the recommended techniques. • Controls that prompt before they are loaded When certain controls are loaded on a Web page, the controls are not correctly masked by the functionality of this update. These controls include controls that are used in Macromedia Shockwave Director, in QuickTime Player, and in Virtools Web Player. When Windows determines that a control is inactive, the system prompts the user before the control is loaded. ---------------- More infos in this page.
  6. Hi, I've just tried with the FlashGot extension (last version 0.5.9.7) and after a clean uninstall of Firefox (I uninstall Firefox with Add/Remove Programs, then I delete manually the install directory in Program Files and the profiles in Application Data\Mozilla, then I delete the HKLM\Software\Mozilla and HKCU\Software\Mozilla keys in the registry). Unfortunately, the install still does not work for me (the Flashgot extension is not installed) ! I have the french edition of Windows XP Pro SP2 and Firefox 1.04. I edit the config.ini file and I replace the line : Path=[PROGRAMFILESDIR]\Mozilla Firefox with this one Path=[PROGRAMFILESDIR]\Mozilla\Firefox (and of course, I copy the FlashGot extension in the Project\Extensions folder) Is this correct ? Is there another thing to change ?
  7. Thanks LaptoniC for the check. It's quite strange, it doesn't work for me. I'll test later with other extensions if I have time. It works with the default install directory, so it is not a big problem. Thanks again.
  8. GREAT program ! But I have a question : when I choose a custom install directory (specified in Config.ini), and I run FirefoxSilent.exe, the installation is OK, but the extensions are NOT installed... With the original directory in Config.ini, it works perfectly... Modified install dir I used : [PROGRAMFILESDIR]\Mozilla\Firefox Extensions I used: IE View 1.2.4, ReGet Plugin 1.0 Has somebody had the same problem ? Edit: I've made several full clean install with a fresh Firefox package and I can say that when the install directory is not the default one, the extensions are NEVER installed by firefoxsilent.exe... If the directory is changed to the default one (in config.ini) and a repack is done, the installer works again correctly. Perhaps a bug in SOF.exe or install.exe ?
