cmedia's sound driver from XP works (looks like there wont be one especially for vista..).. it has a lot of glitches even used in XP, but could be used..

drivers.. i find difficulties finding good 32bit drivers, let alone 64bit..
vista used to bluescreen every 1 hour or less in prior-RC2 builds.. it's been pretty much as stable as XP now.. i had several bluescreens yesterday while playing around with the sound settings.. (cmedia driver from XP - created back in 2002.. lol..)
u said nothing about the audio drivers?

if u're running on a limited user account or UAC is on, run commands are executed with low-level priviledges..

radeon 9600 is capable of running aero quite good.. anyways, i would avoid ati rather avoid ati..

well, it's clear that cleartype is clearer to see and i have always used it.. the thing is, how will the tweaked cleartype look like.. there might be some tweak to get it.. where's Spooky?

well, non-cleartype looks bad - obviously..
cleartype looks ok non-zoomed.. dunno how will it look improved..

i dont see anything wrong.. can u post a screenshots comparing the tuned clear-typed and the non-tuned one from XP?

it will index most of the files within the first run.. then it will index the files as they're created which doesnt hurt performance that much.. i'm searching just like u - once a month.. but even then, i'd like it to be faster..

ffs, i just got up when i wrote that
what i wanted to say is that services have a new architecture in vista.. so performance increase is minimal

no one promoted piracy.. we're just discussing it. a thing u can see in some places: "if u like it, buy it!"
0 -
actually services have no architecture in vista so even if one disables them all he'll not see as great improvements as in xp

i'm just giving a reason why some of the people are cracking..
and lol, prices for europe are so much higher.. they're like double..

how wouldnt one pirate with such high prices..
especially in countries like bulgaria where the average monthly wage is half a vista home premium.. so 2 months of work == vista home premium.. i wont comment ultimate's price

cluberti, that's nice.. i can even feel it.. only 4 times this time.. i guess it will increase more after some time as some prefetch data is collected..

not that i have an nvidia videocard, but i need to ask: do these drivers have opengl support?

i see the bootscreen progress bars go by 20 times.. very odd.. XP boots slowly as well (6-10 times).. something is f***ed up.. i'm running it on "medium-end" hardware ffs..

it boots in less than 2 minutes, while my xp boots in a minute or so.. slightly slower with not apps and startup s*** installed.. (i'm talking about RC1 - RC2)..

i thought the score was based on performance, not on frequency..
i get 3.9 on my p4 2,6HT.. i thought 3200+ would score a bit higher than mine..
0 -
it also takes longer to load a pic then for it not to
it also takes less time if it doesnt render any progress bars on the bootscreen, or even showing the windows logo and playing the welcome sound after that..

btw your 3200+ gets a pretty low score IMO.. or i overestimated AMD..

i told u about the video..

u made some good points, but i dont think it was faked

UAC is nice as an idea, but.. it's getting pretty annoying as it's providing me with pop-ups every minute or so.. i may enable it when i get everything configured..
