  1. Pat57, I disabled my AV services and also deleted all thumbs.db files, as well as made the "details" view the default on all folders on that drive. However, I still get the error. Oh well. This error is sorta unrelated to this topic though. I will continue looking for that specific error. Thanks!
  2. Pat57, I will try your suggestions and get back to you. Thanks! -jdogg
  3. Well, just for giggles... since you asked Cartoonist... I reinstalled the update 885950 to see if it reproduced the problem... and it DID! So that update won't be installing on my computers anymore. No I just have to figure out my other error. I am better off than I was before, but I still have to click several times before being able to access my data and that kinda ticks me off. Anyway, I am gonna try reinstalling SP2 to see if that fixes it. -Jdogg
  4. Hey guys... just a follow up. I am still able to get to everything like it said two posts ago... but SOMETIMES when I click on some of the subfolders I get the error: "Z:\pictures\trips refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer or on a network...." If I try a few times... or more likely just wait a few seconds and click again, I get in??? Freaking Microsoft. I tell ya. If it is not one thing its another. Any ideas?
  5. I would just like to add that I had this exact problem... both machines having Windows XP Prof SP2 and all patches. I spent about 10 hours total trying to fix it, and low and behold my WIFE found this thread!! Thanks to all... Here was my problem: -The HOST computer had the files/folders that I wanted to see. -The REMOTE computer could not see certain random folders on the host machine when a drive was mapped, regardless of the drive letter, whether or not NETBEUI was installed, or if I used IP address or hostname. The SOLUTION, as found on this site, was: -To uninstall the hotfix 885250 from the REMOTE computer. Uninstalling this hotfix from the HOST computer did nothing. Thanks again to all for this thread... you really helped me out. Best Regards, Jdogg
