  1. What does nLite do to verify the version of Windows you are using? Does it checksum the cd/folder contents or something or is it just reading a few files on the cd to find out. I am just asking because I am worried about the integrity of some of the files being copies from CD. Is there any way to verify that the files I copy from my CD are complete and proper? Something like a checksum?
  2. Already looked there. That's what I'm talking about when I say the "newest" one. I guess I have to spell it out though. Version 1.626.6000.20581 is the one I am including at the moment. I want to integrate all the complex scripts. Chinese, Japanese, Sinhala, Khmer, Arabic, the Vedic languages. Any thing that is available, I want it. What I am asking is if this is all I need to include.
  3. Thanks Mara. This thread has been very helpful, and I plan on posting a detailed description of the steps I took when I finish. Also, you should take off Security Update for Windows XP (KB941569) which is included in the newest version of RyanVM's update pack. It says in his FAQ that the only way to currently do this is by using AutoImage, but I know nLite has the ability to at least add RunOnceEx entries. I'm fairly sure that you can integrate RogueSpear's Runtimes Part 2 using nLite despite what it says in the FAQ. Anyone done this successfully?
  4. I am wondering the same thing. And oh yea, one more thing. Does it matter what order you do this stuff in or should it work regardless?
  5. Okay, I'm a little closer now. I just have a few more questions: 1. What is the Root Certificate Update for? I tried searching Google, but most of what I found was very confusing. 2. I am a little confused about how to integrate .NET 3.0. I will be using RogueSpear's Runtimes and RogueSpear's Runtimes Part 2. I'm fairly certain, you can just integrate the first part with nLite like any other addon. Just put the 0_RogueSpearsRuntimes.exe in the "hotfixes and addons" window. For the second part, I know you have to integrate it using RunOnceEx. I'm also planning on using the script pack (not all of it). Do I just add the ScriptPack_V107.rar and the ScriptPackAddonsRogueSpearsRuntimesPart2_1.5.0.zip to the hotfixes screen as well and this will take care of it?
  6. Hello, I would like to include support for every complex script (language), in my XP Installation Disk and was wondering if including the newest Microsoft Uniscribe Unicode Script Processor would satisfy my requirements. Thank you in advance for any advice for or to the contrary.
  7. Thanks so much. This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. A lot of the links are broken though. I'm not sure exactly which ones to use with nLite, but maybe I can help track some of them down. Here's the ones I was planning on using as well as some I was unclear about: Definitely: - RyanVM Update Pack * Version: 2.2.1 * Website: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5967 * File Name: RVMUpdatePack2.2.1.7z * Hash: E873111B7288BD0DE5FFF080B3091E43 ~ KB902344 left out because it is a non-critical Windows Media Play 9 update. ~ KB902344: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902344/en-us - Nico's DirectX 9.0c November 2007 AddOn * Version: 0.3.4 * Website: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5239 * File Name: DirectX_9.0c_November_2007_AddOn_0.3.4_-_CNC.7z * Hash: 63D22EC597877E03E566978190DEFA96 ~ This addon countains only DirectX 9.0c files; no DX10 files are included. - MrNxDmX's IE7 Addon * Version: 1.0.9a * Website: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4289 * File Name: NR_IE7en_Addon_1.0.9a.7z * Hash: MD5 B5153A415F18486C44DB3BA7C93EB539 ~ Not yet compatible with RVM Integrator 1.5. ~ Alternative: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4847 Not sure what file to use: - Java SE Runtime Environment V6.0 Update 4 * Version: 20080126 * Website: http://www.doitrightconsulting.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=132 (forum members only) * File Name: ? * Hash: ? ? Use Switchless Silent Installer or ScriptPack Addon? Could not find the WGA one. Not sure what that is for to tell you the truth. Windows Genuine Advantage? Not sure what the Root Certificate Update or Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 and Service Pack 1 (KB933579) are for either. I'm interested in knowing though. And I only want to update to WMP10 (I don't like WMP11), but I'm not sure where to find an addon that will work with the current version of nLite. Anyone know of one with all the relevant hotfixes included? I guess if you wanted to be complete about things, you could include the driver packs too. I just use Lenovo System Update, so I don't know about those. I was initially going to add all this using the newest version of RyanVM Integrator (v1.5.1), but if I can do it all just as well with nLite, I would rather do that. (MrNxDmX's IE7 Addon says it isn't compatible with the newest version of RyanVM Integrator yet, so I might have had to use NonnoFabiao's located here: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4847) I think I will still have to manually add RogueSpear's Runtimes - Part 2 to RunOnceEx either way right? Thanks again. Great thread. Just what I was looking for and just in time.
  8. Thanks Nuhi. Love your program dude.
  9. I obtained the Intel 945PM Express Chipset INF Update Utility in .ZIP format from this website: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_res...mp;submit=Go%21 Now I don't know which of the INFs from the file to pick. There's dozens of them. I've read the Read Me file but it's no help. I've even searched the forums. Help me! More Chipset Information: South Bridge: 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC Interface Controller Also, I had a few more quick questions about components I may need. I have already integrated the Intel Matrix Storage Manager for Intel® 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH7M). Do I need the following items under Hardware Support having already integrated these two items (Intel Chipset and Intel Storage Matrix)? ALI 1535 SMBus Host Controller ALI IDE Controller CMD PCI IDE Controller Intel PCI IDE Controller Toshiba PCI IDE Controller VIA PCI IDE Controller CPU Intel Edit: Oh yea. I'm using Windows XP Professional SP2
  10. I get the same error using nLite, XPize and RyanVM (all latest versions as of today). What would the process be for fixing this exactly if I'm using nLite. I also get the Found New Hardware Wizard pop-up whenever a new drive is found.
  11. Is there any way to rename the WINDOWS dir to "Windows" so its not in all caps. I know its nitpicky but it just looks so ugly next to the other folders on C. I tried changing the entry in nLite but it didn't work. Should I just hunt through the registry and chance all keys I find in all caps?
  12. I was wondering if anyone knew any utilities that would allow me to toggle show/hide hidden and superhidden files at the click of a button or shortcut. I access them enough that I want them easily accessable without having to navigate through the whole Folder Options window but not enough that I want them showing during regular use of the computer (plus hiding unwanted but hard to delete folders is a great way to tidy up a bit). Anyone know of any utilities or methods to do this?
