Well actually it wasn't completely unattended, rather it was given defaults and you could replace them if you wanted. It correctly skipped the serial no. after i entered it but it still made me change the time zone and phone numbers even after i put it in my answer file. Here's what my winnt.sif looks like: ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" [unattended] UnattendMode=ProvideDefault OemPreinstall=Yes TargetPath=\WINDOWS Repartition=No WaitForReboot=No OemSkipEula = Yes [GuiUnattended] EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=0 TimeZone=120 [userData] ProductKey=************************ FullName="" OrgName="" [Display] BitsPerPel=24 Xresolution=1024 YResolution=768 [TapiLocation] CountryCode=20 Dialing=Tone AreaCode=02 [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=13,1 [GuiRunOnce] Command0=%systemdrive%\install\hotfixes.cmd Command1=%systemdrive%\install\main_batch.cmd [identification] JoinWorkgroup=WORKGROUP [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes [Components] msmsgs = Off Msnexplr = Off Zonegames = Off
I just made an unattended cd with the components section containing msnexplr = Off msmsgs = Off zonegames = Off but after i tried it and installed it, it still installed all these programs, Can somebody help?
That's a pretty cool looking program. Can you make it so you also get to choose the type of install you want (Unattended, GUI,...) That would be even greater.
I know that microsoft has removed java from sp1a. but is it possible to remove it from win xp whilst installing it and add sun java so as to be installed separetaly or does it automatically replace it if i just slipstream sun java?
Can I change the setup type to default where I enter defaults and somebody could overwrite them if they wanted to but still be able to automatically install the hotfixes and progz? Would the logon screen at the first start of windows xp interfere with the updates?
