  1. I agree. I've always like all the icons, there is just something about that red x that I don't like. :/
  2. Hello again XPero, It's me again (the guy with the problem with the exe's getting deleted). I've found another problem. Maybe this one can be tracked down. Because of the above mentioned problem, I decided to embed XPize uAE 2 in my custom XP CD. I tried it too different ways: Including it as a hotfix in nLite, and also apply a I386 patch to the folder after nLite was done. In both cases the following problem happens: I am not able to repair or disable my wireless internet connection. After I get into windows, I install my wireless driver and connect to my wireless network. If I right click the connection in the tray and click repair and it says: Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: Disabling the wireless network adapter Make sure your network adapter is properly installed. If I right click the connection in the tray and click disable, it says: It is not possible to disable the connection at this time. This connection may be using one or more protocols that do not support Plug-and-Play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system account. A few days later and 10 cd's in the garbage I finally narrowed it down. It is XPize, 100% sure. I created a windows install folder using nLite, created an ISO, burned it, and installed it. Everyone works fine. I took took that same folder I used before, integrated XPize, created a new ISO, burned it, and installed it. Now the problem happens. I tried everything. Restarting. Reinstalling adapter. Removing protocols. Looking in Event Log. Couldn't find anything. Maybe you can.
  3. Yeah.... I already make custom CD's with nLite... the only thing is that I can't update to new versions of XPize for new icons/bug fixes unless I remake CD and reinstall windows. I think, unfortunately, I'm going to just use the Royale theme that Microsoft released for XP instead of XPize. EDIT: Fixed
  4. Do you have a non-standard setup in any way? Like my Program Files is on D... There is something going on here. It's weird that it is removing the file without replacing it. If it just never did anything with the file, that would be something different...
  5. The one I posted, outlook.exe, was one of the ones that was missing.
  6. I have Program Files on D and Windows on C (I know it's weird, but I have my reasons) Like This: C:\Documents and Settings C:\Windows D:\Program Files System Variables: %ProgramFiles% -> D:\Program Files\ %SystemDrive% -> C:\ %SystemRoot% -> C:\Windows\ Here is my OUTLOOK.EXE log file, I doubt it tells you anything though: [27 Jul 2005, 00:19:28] [FileNames] Exe=Backup\OUTLOOK.EXE SaveAs=NewFiles\OUTLOOK.EXE Log=Logs\OUTLOOK.EXE.log [Commands] -modify "Resources\OUTLOOK.EXE\1.ico", ICONGROUP, 1, Modified: ICONGROUP,1,1033 Commands completed Are you surpressing errors? Like if it tries to copy a file and there is a error, folder doesn't exist or something, do you have it except and display an error or are you trapping everything? Do you keep track of such errors in a log somewhere? Is there anything that I can send you that will help?
  7. Hey XPero, If you remember back to a month ago, I posted a problem: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=49186 I installed the latest beta of XPize, and I had the same problem... but to a larger extent. WMP EXE, Office EXEs, Outlook Express EXE, Wordpad.exe, Adobe Gamma.cpl, and more where all were missing after install/reboot. I had to manually copy the files to each location. I know you looked into it before and couldn't find anything... but there is definitely something going on here. It is removing the old versions of the files... just not replacing them with the new versions. I am a programmer myself and am willing to work with you and try different stuff. Let me know. I really would like to see this work.
  8. Great site, I really like it. Only one small thing, the alt text for the uAE 2 image at top is "XPize uAE 1.2" instead of 2.0
  9. Thanks. Yeah, it's weird. It removes the old exe, but just doesn't put the new one there.

    Minor Bug

When I install XPize, it doesn't replace my iexplore.exe file correctly. It deletes my old exe but never puts the new one there. I end up copying it out of the C:\Windows\XPize folder and putting it in my Internet Explorer folder and everything works fine after that. I've formatted multiple times (for other reasons) and it happens every time. It happens on my personal computer (laptop), but not my work computer. I think it has something to do with with the fact that I have my program files installed to D:\Program Files, not C:\Program Files on my computer. I just have to remember to copy the file, it's no big deal. However, maybe you can just look into it for 4.0. Maybe somewhere in your code you are using an absolute path instead of %ProgramFiles% Thanks, I love your product. Otherwise great - no problems.
