  1. Ok .. lets use a simple example ... Imagine you have Counter-strike installed on windows server or XP, the key is stored in the registry in Windows. After you dual boot to longhorn, if you install or run counter-strike it will work on xp and the key will be stored in longhorn's registry. After this if you switch back to Windows Server or xp, if you try to run counter-strike you will see that the registry information for it wil be reset somehow, thus making you install counter-strike in Windows Server or Xp. also ... if you boot back to longhorn the same thing will happen and you will have to add the registry keys again or re-install. This happens also to ACDSEE, and other programs ... Hope I made clearer ... Greetz Bomn
  2. also be aware ... when you install windows CD longhorn and dual boot windows Server 2003 / XP after toying with longhorn and installin some programs commom both to windows Server/XP and longhorn somehow, and i still don't know why the registry from Server/xp will become confused and sometime launch havoc with programs on the Server/XP partition and vice versa.
  3. this one is easy ... Download The Intel Chipset drivers and use in the comand line "setup -?" to check the switches available ... I don't recall exactly the comand line for the help, if "-? " try "/?" or substitute the "?" for and "H". After finding out wich one is use the extraction comand which will extract to a default folder (Root\program files\intel) and select the inf files with the right mouse button then click install. Basic, ignore stability or compatibility requests.
  4. Unbelievable ... Windows Server 2003 is the best OS i've seen in years ... And... I've been around everything almost... I work with computers daily and I must say that in the company i work for (Computer Shop/Programmer Shop) we have windows Server 2003 in 3 machines: 1 Main Server ; 1 Backup Server and my work post. XP is not stable at all altough hard work from MS to make it safer and more stable. In terms of security and viruses / adware and such XP is to Server 2003 around 302 infection on xp to 4 (max 10) on server 2003. This with the same tasks, and usage in both basicly. Also its extremely flexible ... If I was "loaded" as you said It would DEFINITLY be in my buying list for personal use ...
