  1. I'm a relative newcomer to programming in general and i was wondering if there were any really good sites or references for learning to code in VB.NET? I know the really basic stuff like forms and that, i mean, its the same in pretty much any ADE... what i'm looking for is more specific, leaning towards VB.NET syntax and database access... I've never coded in VB or .NET before either so all the syntax is completely foreign. If anyone could post a few links or references or even some stuff on the subject... it would be really appreciated!
  2. Developing a web site using ASP... now in original XP Professional i had NO issues whatsoever with the pages i'm testing but i recently installed a clean installation of service pack II and the bugger wont let me write to a database... reading from the database (.mdb) works perfectly fine but the minute you try and write to it, you get a crappy error which pretty much tells you to get stuffed... how can i get around this? i've seen plenty of threads where folks had the same problem but nothing i found worked... any help would be REALLY appreciated, ive been stuck on this for the last month and im really at my wits end!
  3. I'm running XP Professional with a single user, namely Administrator. There are no other user names since there is no need for them and since security isnt an issue i've left administrator without a password. I had everything setup so as to go straight to the desktop after booting up. Now after installing VS.NET and a few others, regardless of the fact that the SQL Debugger and ASP.NET users arent actual users, i boot to the welcome screen where Administrator is the only user... Is there no way to NOT have to go to the welcome screen? I know its a minor issue but the welcome screen is totally unnecessary since there is only ONE actual user. I know i can get rid of the welcome screen by deleteing the other non-user user accounts but they are necessary for programming purposes... so is there any other way? Please help!
