BUT I will futher investigate @Everyone: New version uploaded... EDIT: @OrcoXP: What Language do you use?

@Everyone: I can't seem to reproduce the error of Windows Media Player telling me the player is out of date ,but just to be sure I have to ask Did everyone download the version of Windows Media Player 10 that has the additional updates included? It was released earlier this year if I remember correctly... Check Out: Windows Media Player 10 If you downloaded before this date or if you're haveing this problem try redownload and check if the problem persists...

My Documents folder through variable
Gnome replied to Ben.Hahlen's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Hi Ben.Hahlen how's it going? The I:\My Documents ... should this be your All users My Documents or Current User My Documents... To make it abit clearer i'll use the example of Default Windows XP: Usually Default Windows XP All Users Folder would be: And your current user would be: EDIT: NM -
@BoardBabe: Ahh, now I understand.. Thanks for the info BoardBabe I am checking it out right now... Just to confirm this error only occurs with WMP10 slipstream right? or is it with WMP10 normally installed also?

Ok everyone I have finished my new version... I am currently doing some testing (make sure it'll work 100% ) The SYSOC problem has been fixed, the gui's been simplified, the parameters have been improved and the need to specify makecab directory removed as well as a temporary directory(automatically created). Also you no longer need to specify what the program should do about svcpack.inf this'll all be detected. I am also looking into the problem some of you have been haveing with Windows Media Player 10 update being needed... I haven't been to the forums in a couple of days (I rewrote the program completely) so I just wanted to keep everyone updated and say I am still busy with the slipstream. That's about it EDIT: Just corrected some info...
-
@Boardbabe & Boooggy: I am currently looking into this error, but the strange thing is I can't seem to replicate it... I am also currently busy with the final version that should take care of all the bugs and requests, but that'll be in a few days..
-
@RyanVM: Just noticed the new version looks like you added quite a few extra updates as usual , GREAT WORK !!!!
-
@RyanVM: If you need some info just pm me and i'll send it to you, I think makeing the wmp10 part of your update pack would make things alot easier @Zorro1: Thanks @Boardbabe: Could you please expand the WMP10SP2.INF file in your i386 folder and check that all the entries are localized(they are at the bottom of the file) and maybe double check if the files or whatever(i don't really know what's different from the localized vs english ) match your language... @Everyone: If you are using non english Windows Xp you could add the entry to SYSOC.INF Manually and it'll work perfectly.. I don't really understand why Fedit corrupts NON english Sysoc.. Add this entry to the Components section of SYSOC.INF WMP10Files=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,WMP10SP2.INF,HIDE,7
-
@boooggy: I can confirm that fedit corrupts the sysoc.inf file(from non-english Xp) so I am busy creating my own tool now.. It'll be done by tomorrow hopefully
-
@Everyone: It seems that non-english XP Sysoc gets corrupted by fedit so I will have to contact djbe, or create my own tool to make the entries until then don't let the slipstreamer add entries to sysoc.inf @LaptoniC:Thanks fo the help @Zorro1:Thanks for reporting the bug So it seems i'll be updating the program tomorrow.
-
@zorro1: This is a strange error, as the program that adds entries,FEDIT( provided by djbe) is only supposed to add WMP10Files=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,WMP10SP2.INF,HIDE,7 to the Components section of sysoc.inf But you say after slipstream sysoc is completely empty? Could you please send me your SYSOC.INF before any modifications (eg. only wxp + sp2) @LaptoniC: Could you also please send me your SYSOC.INF (before being modified)
-
@zorro1: Which Version of windows XP are you using? Are you using Nlite or any such utility and is the file completely empty after attempting slipstream or is only the slipstreamer entry missing? oh and also are you using the latest version? (v2.1 or v2.2 should be ok)
-
Thanks Ben Sry about jumping the gun a bit I was on my way out not concentrating my bad
-
@BEN: Ofcourse I posted a bit too soon.. but I sent you the email...
-
@Ben.Hahlen: Thanks i'll update.. @Everyone:Also I have a new version ready that supports commandline parameters. Should be up soon
-
@dazkrlauwste: I also thought about this and this will probably be the last thing i'll add but to make the project as complete as possible I'll add it eventually... @boooggy: I'll add that as well and I really appreciate all the testing now all we need is someone with a non english Windows XP who's willing to run a test
-
@booggy: Thanks for the info boooggy i'll update the info page... @Everyone: Thanks for the support I am updating the program later today to add support for commandline switches @kelsenellenelvian,dziubek & RyanVM: Thanks for opting to host... I am not sure how many mirrors are necessary but I think at least two and I think the webspace provided by my isp isn't that great but i'll keep it as a third option. Anyway i'll contact you as soon as I am done with the next version.
-
@Ben.Hahlen: Thanks It's Working Now and added to the first post! @RyanVM: Thanks, I'll check it out
-
NP djbe and thanks for the tool it's made my life A WHOLE LOT easier (understatement really ). Edit: @Ben.Hahlen: Thanks for the help! Edit2: @everyone: how can I track how many times a file has been downloaded from my webspace? PM if you can provide me with some info, thanks.
-
New version uploaded Ok everything worked as far as I can see Please report if the download link is broken.. (provided by my isp).
-
@boooggy: I think i just solved the problem.. I am just quickly testing in VPC then i'll post if everything is 100%
-
@boooggy: I think I know what the problem is now.. You removed Windows Messanger with Nlite didn't you? Ok basically I tried a technique with the tool given to me by BTS to add the entry to sysoc.inf but I'll have to write my own tool I'll update that tomorrow also. Sorry about that
-
@TBone2: I added another link please check if it works..
-
@boooggy: Since nlite removes components from sysoc.inf maybey it removed the entry. Could you try first nlite your XPCD then slipstream..(remember to remove the playlists or skins if you have selected them for removal with nlite). AND DO NOT REMOVE WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 9 WITH NLITE !!!!!! @Tbone2: Strange it's working for me... @Everyone: If anyone can provide a link please pm me or knows of any other free webspace
