  1. Like this, right?

    OemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\000_VIA\WinXP;Drivers\000_VIA\Inf\WinXP;Drivers\000_VIA\IDEWinXP;Drivers\000_VIA\AGP;Drivers\001_NVidia"

Do the VIA parts have to be installed in a certain order or can they be done in any order? :)

Oh, and is there a particular reason why it's a three-figure number?

  2. Cheers, I'm assuming that since VIA apparently needs to be installed before anything else, I thought it'd be safe to list the NVidia folder last. Does it install the drivers in the order you specify in that line?

Also, how will I be able to know if the VIA drivers installed successfully???

  3. Hmmmm, it appears removing OOBE isn't a good idea if you want to create your own user at initial startup.

Plus, removing System Restore happily caused the tab in My Computer Properties to disappear, but the option still existed in Help & Support.

Also, I tested a cut-down ISO through Virtual PC, and text-mode setup complained about a file missing: mstask.hlp.

    mstask.png

I have a feeling that this could be something to do with LAYOUT.INF...

  4. Would removing WMP8 allow one to carry out a clean install of WMP9?

BTW, are the following IE.INF and MSTASK.INF altered correctly?

    IE.INF:

Come to think of it, are there like any really bad side effects from removing IE with this method? :)

  5. Oh, BTW - have I translated some of the tweaks right?

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\mailto\DefaultIcon]
    "@"="%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msimn.exe,-2"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\mailto\shell\open\command]
    "@"=""%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /mailurl:%1"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail]
    "@"="Outlook Express"

  6. So no-one knows exactly what "SuperHidden" is for?  "ShowSuperHidden" we all know what it does, of course.

"SuperHidden" Is for hidding windows system protected files to prevent amator users to damage vital windows files !

    ***********--------------------***********

But my qustion is that how should we change a attribite of a file to SuperHidden ?

    :)

So what you're saying is "SuperHidden" is the opposite of "ShowSuperHidden", and shouldn't both be enabled at once? And I hardly count myself as an amateur, btw.
