hello guys thanks for replying, TAiN - ic, but we have naming conventions so i dont think that causes the problem. RogueSpear - yah you're right it wipes the user setting and adopts the default user profile. ill try the profile hive cleanup service controlling it for sometime will be enough for now . hello everyone, im having weird problems regarding profiles, when i login to our domain (entity.ph) my local computer creates a profile by default (johndoe), after some time when i login again it creates another profile (johndoe.entity), i didnt recieve any error or corrupted profile notification, this happens to every terminal i managed, would it be the DNS or the local computer that is causing the problem? what i usually do is just delete the newly created profile and restart, it is a long process and i know you guys may know the sollution to this, im running windows 2003 server. any help would be appreciated. sorry guys, havent implemented the roaming profiles yet since, i have to know its prons and cons before doing such action, i work in a production house so that is what they really do. Its really hard to maintain the network/system in this environment.

I’m having problems in choosing what kind of setup (User Profiles) I will use for 1 of the department here at work; this department does the following scenario: They have 6 terminals running under win2k and about 20 users 1. They come and go, and always on the rush 2. They don’t have their own terminal and files are located everywhere (in 6 terminals). 3. They have software based and plug and play devices (cameras and USB) to view shoots and projects 4. Very dependable on their old files 5. Doesn’t have any filing system. 6. Only the regular employees have the logon, w/c they gratefully share to others making it more complicated for their files and their profiles. 7. For the freelancers they use on common logon 8. A heavy user of printer. I read about roaming profile but it has a lot of cons that would make me think twice. I’m making every terminal as automated as possible coz I manage 4 companies w/ 500 + users, saving little time really helps J Suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thank You Ps. Thank You if in case you encounter this here's the sol. 1. goto to your active directory, under users customize the view and add the email address then export it using comma delimited 2. edit the delimited file (better if you use excel) and remove the unnecessary fields, then export it to your personal folder. open your .pst file 1. file>open>personal folders file (.pst) 2. choose the .pst file (the one you archived) which usually located at C:\Documents and Settings\PROFILENAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\YOURPST.pst or your filter is activated. if so remove it

Hello, i want to create a group policy and implement it on very terminal in our company, instead of the old fashion way of going to every terminal to run group policy edit. i know this is posible, we are using DNS logon windows 2003 server. or a user policy on the active directory for every users so i can specify which user will have limited rights on a terminal Can anyone help me on this. your help is greatly appreciated. hi every one, i have a problem using my network places im using win2k pro sP4 and updated, i cant access the network and its intermitent sometimes you can access it sometimes the network is not available, ive check for cables and other causes of non connectivity and still it occurs, im logging using DNS and an administrator priviledges thanks for the help ps. i dont know if i posted on the right forum so please forgive me if i missed posted. thanks
