  1. Even though your reply was not to me, I see this type of misquoting and spinning all the time without exposure so I’m going to jump in here and show everyone the errors of your ways. Then you can delete the message, saving yourself face. >>I have seen on the news groups. IF this guy is legitimate, >>which all indications seems to point to the fact that he isn't >By news groups, do you mean these forums? or do you >mean the actually NNTP newsgroups? I'm just curious. I don’t know about the person you are quoting here but I have seen discussions about the “absent” author of this program and his refusal/inability/whatever reason to not honor the contents of his OWN EULA on the Newsgroups also and they were the “Actual” Newsgroups because I don’t know what a Non-Actual Newsgroup is. I myself call what we are on here a Forum. GM says: 1.Download the End User’s License Agreement (EULA) and Request Package. 2.READ the EULA. 3.Follow the instructions in the README.TXT file of the End User’s License Agreement (EULA) and Request Package. 4.Email your completed request to XPCREATE.COM. That you will be sent a UN/PW to access the download are. "Processing may take up to 48 hours, so please do not send multiple requests within a 72 hour time frame." Now, I guess any good spinner of the truth can say that the word “MAY” was used and 48 hours could turn into months if not years without leading the victim on and on and on….. and the spinner would be right because “MAY” can mean any amount of time… hell lets go for 100 years since we are spinning here and don’t forget to include 100’s of “allow up to 72 hours before re-submitting your request” tries. >As for the legitamacy, if the program wasn't legitamate why >would I be opening up downloads in about one hour? Looking at the quote you are referring to and misquoting from, he says, “IF this guy is legitimate”. Nowhere do I see where he said anything about what you are saying he says, “program wasn't legitimate”. Please, if you are going to lie about what someone says, then don’t be stupid enough to QUOTE what they actually said in your lie. >The simple fact of the matter that you would think that >MSFN would condone a program with malicious >intentions to be allowed to be distributed from >(was originally) and still have a place on these forums >shows that you don't have the slightest courtesy to GM >or these forums. Again, looking back at what this person ACTUALLY wrote, I do not see anywhere where he questioned the program. Please don’t lie, it is not only discourteous but also extremely stupid when you lie about something that is still available for everyone to read. It is also discourteous to all who read this forum because it suggest that we are too stupid to read and know what was actually said since it is still available on the forum for reading. >Common Courtesy indicates time. And telling the truth. >Legitimacy is indicated by action. Which none has been seen from GM >I am about to take that action, if nothing else then to >save a friend's reputation that you people have tarnished >because he hasn't had time to come to this board. Again, you try but fail to spin the truth. No one has “Tarnished” this GM’s reputation but GM himself by not adhering to contents of his own EULA. Try and Spin as hard as you might, some on here are intelligent enough to know that it is not the fault of those that find exception to this GM’s discourtesy in not adhering to the contents of his own EULA for this controversy but is the fault of this GM himself. If he could not abide by his own EULA, then he should drop it in whole or edit out the parts that he refuses to honor himself. But you go on and try to spin it to be the fault of those that are voicing exception to the discourtesy. I’m sure someone will bite… as a matter of fact, I see one already has. >If after i have taken the action to bring XPCREATE to you >yall and you still behave in this manor and disrespecting GM You can’t force people to respect someone that does not have the courtesy to abide by the contents of his own EULA, but you can throw them off the board in order to thwart the embarrassment of it all. And don’t forget to delete their messages so it will appear that this never happened in the first place. If I were you, I sure would delete this messages since it must really be embarrassing to you exposing the misquotes and spins the way it does. >I have allowed this to continue simply because no action has >been taken, but action is about to be taken, and so i remind >you of the forum rules Too bad you weren’t as concerned about the absence of actions being taken that were covered in the EULA as much as you were concerned about those that took exception to the discourtesy of the absence of actions being taken that were covered in the EULA. I’m sure everyone that has been waiting months for the courtesy of a reply to their meeting the requirements set forth in the EULA will be pleased that someone finally had to step in and make this right. However, for you to vilify those that voiced their opinions about the discourtesy and for you to lie about what they actually said, even while quoting them, will not pass the spin test much less the eyes of those with intelligence above plant life. And as Dixie said, if you are only stepping in to finally honor the distribution of the free copy to those that met the requirements of this GM’s EULA months ago, who knows or even wants to deal with the hassles that will probably be associated with obtaining the commercial version. Again, thank you for stepping in but don’t Vilify GM’s victim’s for voicing their displeasure for GM’s discourtesy while making this GM appear to be the victim here. Won’t Wash! Now you can delete this message in order to save face.
  2. Same here my friend... I just gave up after submitting my 8th request without a single reply... Courtesy as you call it is something very foreign to this guy. But you are right about some of those News Groups warning people about him. You know something funny has to be going on because any legitimate enterprise would at least have, as you call it, the "Courtesy" to at least tell you "NO". And I did as you, I filled out his silly little exam per his specific instructions. There are alternatives who's creators will actually let you download and try. I mean... A Big DUH!
  3. I'm feeling the same way, like someone is playing with me. And, that someone now has my email address. I feel like the fool for getting taken in on this one. I really thought this guy was legit. DW
  4. You know, that is exactly what I was thinking. If he's a slacker when it comes to getting the program out, just think of all the horrors you would be faced with if you needed support. I'm getting a little tired of hanging at the end of this guys string or whatever perverted game he's playing. I can see that something very strange is going on with this whole situation and I think the wise thing would be to bail out. I just hate that this guy now has my email address. Makes you also wonder why he wouldn't accept hotmail/yahoo/etc email addresses. My son says he's seen this type of thing before on fake email harvesting sites. And to think I fell for it! DW
  5. [[[[[in order to receive a username / password combination, needed to access the XPCREATE download areas, you must fill in the accompanying FORM.TXT file. • Fill in your First Name, Last Name and Email Address in the corresponding fields. Please note that anonymous email accounts (Hotmail, Yahoo, GMail) may prevent your request from being accepted. Anonymous email accounts will NOT be accepted for Commercial Trial Version requests.]]]]] >First Name : xxxxx >Last Name : xxxxx Well, unless he didn't like your first or last name then you got that right. >Email : xxxxxx@internode.on.net internode.on.net doesn't look like an anonymous email account and anyway, he specifically says that "Anonymous email accounts will NOT be accepted for Commercial Trial Version requests" of which you are NOT asking for a "Commercial" version. [[[[[• If you have an MSFN Screen Name, you should enter that name as the Screen Name. If you do not have an MSFN Screen Name, you may enter your desired User Name.]]]]] >Screen Name : czaja74 You are still doing it according to his instructions. [[[[[• Enter the version you are requesting. Either Freeware or Commercial.]]]]] > Version : freeware What can I say, you are still following his instructions [[[[[• If you are requesting a Commercial Trial Version, you must enter your company name and address.]]]]] >---------- FOR COMMERCIAL REQUESTS ---------- >Company Name : >Company Address : >Your direct telephone number : >Hours you can be reached : >Number of computers in your company : Maybe this is where he is getting everyone. Notice that he says that IF you are a company then fill in your "Company Name and Address". However, there are fields there for "Your direct telephone number", "Hours you can be reached" and "Number of computers in your company". He didn't specifically tell you to fill in those in the instructions so this may be the trick part that is catching everyone. It’s hard to say if there is no courtesy of telling you why you have failed the "HURDLE" to qualify. [[[[[After completing the required fields, you must copy and paste the entire FORM.TXT document into the top of the body of your email request.]]]]] You sample shows that you did that. Maybe you didn't get it all the way to the top and had a blank line at the top. That could be a violation of the HURDLE requirements. [[[[[Next, you must read the accompanying End User License Agreement (EULA). If you agree to the terms of this agreement, you must enter words to the effect of “I have read and agreed to the terms of the following EULA”, and copy and paste the EULA in the body of your letter.]]]]] >I have read and agreed to the terms of the following EULA >"""""BODY OF THE EULA"""""" Well, to anyone with common sense, it would appear that you followed that HURDLE, BUT...... The instructions didn't really say if you were to put the words "I have read and agreed to the terms of the following EULA" before or after the pasted copy of the entire EULA. That could be another cryptic trick to trip you up. No one really knows since there was not the courtesy of telling you exactly what part of HURDLE you failed. Actually, he could be clairvoyant and know that you really didn't read the EULA. You did read it didn't you as instructed in the HURDLE instructions? Anyway, your example shows that anyone with common sense would see that you followed the instructions to the best that one can with the way the HURDLE instructions are written. But like I said, if one wants to get technical, part of the instructions can be taken more than one way, which may be done on purpose seeing as how things with this are seeming to go. My suggestion, do the HURDLE in all the possible ways that it can be deciphered in the instructions to do. Even if that is 100 different ways, and email them all in. The laws of average says that at least one of them "MIGHT" conform to whatever the real meaning of the instructions are. Without the courtesy of letting you know specifically what part you didn't decipher and do correctly according to the rules of the day, there is no way of knowing which means resorting to filling it out in all known combinations hoping to hit the lucky one. Regards,
  6. >Ever think that maybe GM has a life outside these forums? Perhaps there was a >family emergency, perhaps his computer failed, perhaps he was in a car wreck, >perhaps ANY number of different possible possibilities could have happened. Well, that outside life, emergency, computer failure, car wreck or any number of other probabilities didn't seem to effect his ability to establish a last recorded activity on the forum which was 30th March 2005 - 05:24 PM. One would assume that all the unanswered "properly formatted" username/password requests made before that date/time should have been attended to if he had the ability to have been active on the forum on 30th March 2005 - 05:24 PM. Or at least the courtesy of a message telling everyone that they ain't going to get a username/password. 30th March 2005 - 05:24 PM
  7. Greetings, I have slipstreamed SP2 into all my XP-SP1 masters using the easily available program AutoStreamer with success. However, I always wished there was a way to slipstream all the updates also so one would not have to deal with the online updates each time a restoration/installation was made. Then I hear about XPCreate, which is supposed to do just that. I look forward to using the program if I am ever granted a username/password to access the download area. I am reading on many other XP Newsgroups and Email Lists that getting a reply to repeated “Correctly formatted” requests for usernames/passwords are going unanswered so….. Maybe I will be one of the lucky ones and get a reply to my “Correctly formatted” request for a username/password. Regards,
