  1. Try Nircmd, it has some useful functions with RAS, it might be some help. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd2.html#using
  2. Hi I had the same problem once XP Service Pack 2 (sp2) was integrated, I got around it by altering the wpi.cmd file as follows; REM Start WPI and wait for its end assoc .hta=hta_auto_file ftype hta_auto_file="%SystemRoot%\System32\mshta.exe" "%%1" start /wait WPI.hta REM call any cleanup code here, or after this script. exit :end This then works fine, seems that something with sp2 changes associations, as Internet Explorer doesnt automatically assign itself as the default browser either! Cheers
  3. Hi Quick question, is it possible to run dos commands from within WPI. For example mkdir, I get an error message that it cant find the file. Any ideas how to fix this? I dont really want to create cmd files to do the same thing. Thanks
  4. As an update to my post, I found this tool CPAU which works the same way as the RunAs, only you can bundle the username/password. http://www.joeware.net/win/free/tools/cpau.htm Use this to add the domain user to the local machine as an administrator cpau -u DOMAIN\ADMINACCOUNT -p password -ex "net localgroup \"Administrators\" \"DOMAIN\USERACCOUNT\" /add I've bundled this into a Wise script which works very nicely, prompting for the user account to add, works lovely!
  5. Hi all During the finale of my automated setup I wish to allow a user to add their domain account into the local administrators group on their machine. Any ideas how this can be done, maybe a window with all the domain users in it and they then select themselves from this, and that account is then automatically added to the local admin group. Anybody got any clever ideas or solutions to this problem?? Thanks in advance
