  1. That's nice of you, but it would be nicer if you included more details on how to use this info, for example: What's WSB?
  2. Argh. That was it. I'll have to redo my preferred order for the tray icons, but that's only a minor annoyance. However, I saw the option in the installer to download and install updates, but I don't want my programs to update themselves. (I'm old, so I've had to deal with many rogue programs that suddenly rearranged controls or removed features without my knowledge. Admittedly, most programmers know better now, but my old habits die hard.) Can't there be an option to "download and notify" (or just "notify") instead? And a minor complaint about SaB's UI for this: I kept expecting tooltips on hover, not wanting to click on anything before knowing what it would do. It was only when I got brave and clicked that I found that the info I was looking for is only available in the submenu that appears after clicking. (As much as Microsoft likes to think so, their icons are not self-explanatory.)
  3. Is this something not available in Win11? I don't have these configuration pages in my SaB.
  4. I believe you're right, but getting rid of the icon was all I was really looking for.
  5. Unfortunately, my W11 system isn't giving a Copilot option in Settings > Personalization > Taskbar like the linked page says - but now, right-clicking the new icon does give an option for turning it off: (I would have sworn that that wasn't there yesterday...)
  6. That still means you may need to reinstall the patch many times over. Personally, I think the prospect of repeatedly re-patching is potentially more annoying than the annoyance you're trying to remove. And speaking of annoyances, with my latest W11 update, I got a new icon on SaB's taskbar with a tooltip saying "Copilot (preview)" that launches Edge (not my default browser) when clicked. Oddly, it doesn't appear when I turn off SaB. @Tihiy, can you modify SaB to kill it? P.S.: Disabling and re-enabling SaB's taskbar causes SaB to ignore my preference for "Combine taskbar buttons"; I have to open the dropdown and re-select "Never" (which is presented as if it still was selected) to get it back to where I want it.
  7. Not likely. Most Windows files are digitally signed now; any attempt to patch them would be detected as an attempt to inject malware.
  8. Had 3.6.5 when I noticed this; just updated to 3.6.9 and still seeing it. When "Widgets" is enabled in Windows settings, sometimes the entire taskbar can get replaced with insanely long pieces of text - traffic reports, usually - pushing literally everything else except the Start button off the taskbar. Would it be possible to add a facility to SaB to limit the amount of space and/or text that "Widgets" can use in the taskbar?
  9. Two unrelated bugs I've recently encountered: 1. I keep a shortcut to iTunes in my taskbar, and when I last updated iTunes, "Unpin from taskbar" failed to appear in the menu. (iTunes is one of several programs that use GUIDs in their shortcuts, which are regenerated with each update, meaning that every update requires shortcuts to be trashed and recreated.) I had to turn off SaB to delete the old shortcut before I could recreate it with the new GUID. 2. Using "Win10 Ribbon UI", selecting "Open in new tab" on a special folder such as "Contacts" fails to show the command bar normally seen for this folder. The command bar appears when creating a entirely new window, or when changing the window view to "Contacts", but not on a new tab.
  10. Just for the record, I've since tried running the aforementioned "extremely memory intensive tasks" with SaB deactivated, and found that the normal Windows taskbar also chokes on them - which is why I haven't bothered to find a way to send crash dumps (since I now am fairly certain that my crashes are occurring in Microsoft's code and not SaB's).
  11. I now have plenty of crash dumps, but they're all bigger than the "Max total size" that this Web site allows for attachments. How else can I get them where they need to go?
  12. I've also been noticing many restarts, but didn't mention it because I thought it was due to my running some extremely memory intensive tasks for long periods. I'm doing this also, and I'll send it along when (if) it happens again.
  13. On another topic, now that 22H2 has given us subfolders in the Win11 default Start Menu, will SaB be following suit - adding subfolders for its Start Menu replacement as well?
  14. As another person who just got force-fed 22H2, I second this motion - or actually, third. (It looks to me like they left room for the "Checkboxes" option, but forgot to check whether the user actually wants checkboxes.)
