  1. Hi, I'm using the latest BTS packs as of today. I have a few things to report back from my own experience : 1. The most weird thing is with Windows XP Home : after the last reboot - on different machines and with the same CD - I occasionnally have a logon screen without a single user to logon. Can't do ANYTHING from there!!! Any ideas? This is a MAJOR issue as far as I'm concerned. No problems identified with the XP Pro or Corporate i386 sources. 2. I still occasionnally have to "help" the hardware device wizard to search for drivers during the initial steps (TFT screen & nForce4 SATA drivers on a A8NE-Deluxe for example), even if the driver signing policy has been disabled. Works fine, without any interaction with some other MB e.g. DFI LanParty nF4 Ultra-D. 3. The PCI WLAN Netgear WG311v2 card isn't yet supported (althought it is quite old). 4. I'd like to have the ATI Catalyst control panel to be enabled by default as with nVIDIA ForceWare drivers. 5. Using method 2, the cleaning process is incomplete : the folder "D" remains on %systemdrive%
  2. -Fixed: Linksys WMP54G v2 driver: driver was correct and up-to-date, but one with a newer timestamp has been reported to be working, while the previous driver did not. > I can confirm that is does work now, thanks However, got a WG311v2 PCI card, which is not recognized...
  3. It would be nice to have the default ATI tray icon enabled by default during the Catalyst Control Panel installation (as it happens on nVIDIA based cards). It is only a matter of editing 2 .reg file from the Control Panel directory... and changing them to : "EnableIcon"="0" "NoAtipta"="1" Thanks.
  4. Using the very latest packs from BTS (late August 2005), I have that issue when AMD nForce4 v6.66 drivers are being installed @ T-39. This is NOT an error but simply an annoying dialog box saying something like: "The hard disk has been installed". I have to press OK to confirm for things to carry on, which is a pain in the bum as I'm supposed to run in a fully unattended mode. For info, I have an Asus A8N-E Deluxe motherboard with this disk configuration : 2 * 80Gb ; RAID0 on nForce4 chipset 3 * 160Gb ; SoftRAID5 on Silicon Image 3114R 1 * 160Gb on IDE0 (master) 1 * DVD+/-RW on IDE0 (slave) I've checked the WINNT.SIF file to make sure it won't prompt me for any unsigned hardware. Well, the latest BTS BASE took out both relevant lines I had regarding that matter! Adding them back on again didn't change anything. Help !
  5. OOooppps: just after the network install screen an unexcepted reboot occurs on an Asus K8S-MX-EAYKZ. Removing the LAN pack from the CD solved the problem.
  6. I still get a BSOD on the PORTCLS.SYS file on an Asus K8S-MX-EAYKZ Removing the SOUND_A & B packs from the CD solved the problem.
  7. I finally got it to work... using the drivers provided with the original CD. Please find the files attached. Hope this helps P.S. drivers are of the same size as the ones in the DriversPack but the timestamp is different. wmp54gv2.7z
  8. This is the device which is causing the problem (Linksys WMP54G v2): PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4320&SUBSYS_00131737&REV_03\4&13699180&0&3048: Wireless-G PCI Adapter
  9. Hi, I constantly get a BSOD : "MACHINE_EXCEPTION_FAULT" during the peripherals install screen so that I had to take this pack out from my unattended CD. The WLAN card I'm using is the PCI Linksys WMP54G (not sure if it is the v4 or S model) recently updated. Can you check that out please Thanks.

BTW 2: I just can't find the separate threads I was used to on this forum for each BTS's individual DriversPack. Where have they gone please?
  12. Hi, Quick... but tricky question: can somebody tell me if the BTS DriverPacks work with XP Home Edition (especially with MassStorage). Cheers
  13. @midiboy: +1 I'm also trying to provide an 'as generic as possible' install
  14. Feedback : all latest packs + erik_demon post FIX#2 (cheers BTW), using M2 and no experimental options (GuiRunOnce / without KtD) -> works perfectly well!!! No issue and no left over whatsoever. Haven't tried the other methods yet... but this time I guess we're getting (at last ) very close to a stable package
  15. Yet another Marvell Yukon driver v8.27.3.3 !!! yk51x86_v8_27_3_3.7z
  16. Hey BTS, As promised, the latest Marvell Yukon drivers v8.26.2.3 (downloaded from Windows Update). yk51x86_v8_26_2_3.7z
  17. Feedback : all latest packs + FIX 02 May, using Method 2, without using any of the experimental options. Well, oooppssss... the file "cmdlines.txt" gets blanked out, which means none of the .cmd script in it execute (especially RunOnceEx). As a result, it does completely screw up the install This issue is major and has to be fixed ASAP
  18. That's most weird as Windows is NOT case sensitive. Are you sure you're using the correct ISO settings when burning the DVD?
  19. Feedback: BTS 5.05 + FIX + all latest packs seem OK using method 2 However, 2 (minor) things I've noticed. 1. The file "remove.lst" remains at the root of the CD: is this normal or simply omitted for removal? 2. I still get a Windows Update available on Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller (April 18 2005 v8.26.2.3) on an A8N-SLI Deluxe... Finally, can somebody tell me how to enable / show the ATI tray icon during the XP unattended install, instead of doing it manually? Thanks.
  20. I'm not going to raise a technical issue at this time, but just to say: c'mon BTS, you're DriverPacks project is much appreciated: please carry on with the good work Impatient to get hold of .14 soon: indeed, the whole stuff seems to be stabilising, which is good news
  21. Exact same problem as far as I'm concerned : I've addressed the issue to BTS but had no reply so far: could be a wrong version of the control panel causing it. Let's wait and see...
  22. BTS, regarding the ATI Catalyst concern, that's kind of weird... 'cause if you have a look at the included screenshot, the version shows 5.3 and 8.111.050222a, whereas 5.4 is 8-121.050322a. And I have no other display drivers than the ones you are providing in packs A & B. For your info. I've been using "DriverPack_Graphics_A_V5042.7z", which size is 25876 Ko under Windows Explorer. You may well want to double check that
  23. Exactly the same problem as "confused" with the "aliide.sys" file and same mobo... the A8N-SLI Deluxe. Thanks again BTS for the hard work, keep on going EDIT : added the following line... aliide.sys= 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4 ... to the TXTSETUP.SIF file in the [sourceDisksFiles] section. Well, it seems to have cured the problem. All OK now, back on track with a system up and running BTW, there's a new LAN Marvell Yukon driver v8.24.3.3 included in this reply and ATI Catalyst 5.4 are out + SiS AGP 1.21 & VIA SATA/RAID 4.20a... yk51x86.7z
  24. Hi, I'm still getting a Blue Screen of Death caused by the "portcls.sys" file, even with 5.04.1, whilst trying to setup XP on an HP-Compaq DC7100. Looking at another DC7100 (running XP SP2), the driver is a SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (coming from the "ADI AC97.exe" file provided by HP). Well, I think that is worth mentionning as the issue was supposed to be fixed in this build... I'll be trying to include the appropriate driver to a custom DP\HP7100\SOUND subfolder and see what happens
  25. There's a new Silicon Image Soft-RAID5 driver v1.2.0.0 from Windows Update. I've gathered all the required information last week and tested it on my machine OK. I'll post it later on (when I'm back from work ). Works well on my AN8-SLI Deluxe... Just to clarify one thing for the MassStorage 5.04, are the nVIDIA SATA/RAID drivers issued from the latest Unified 6.53 ? 'cause the ones I have compressed from 6.53 (using M$ makecab) are not of the same size Incroyable HULK > strange, never had any problems with either the nVRAID or the Silicon Image controllers (2*80Gb on nVRAID using RAID0 & 3*160Gb on SiI3114 using Soft-RAID5) from BIOS 1004 to 1007, whatever the nForce4 Unified driver was. However, the thing that REALLY pi...es me off is that I can't change the ID # between the RAID controllers which means the SiI (when enabled from the BIOS), always takes precedence over the nVRAID. Problem : even if you choose to install XP on the nVRAID array only, the SiI array also HAS to be partionned and formatted, otherwise XP complains and won't install
