  1. Is there a way to set the opacity for inactive windows to zero, so you can fully look through the window border? I'm using Aero Glass UI, but no mather which opacity I select for the inactive frames, it has no effect. The only value that actualy has an effect on the opacity of active and inactive windows is the opacity setting for active frames. I'm currently using an own active frame color with 60% color balance and 50% opacity. For the inactive frames I set a different color with 80% color balance and 0% opacity. Everything but the inactive frame opacity is working fine. Another "issue": there is the option "adjust opacity by theme settings". No matter how often I try to disable the settings, it is automatically actived when saving the settings. So how do I get my inactive frames to be 100% transparent? P.S. I'm not using an atlas image but the Windows 7 Areo Theme for Windows 10.
  2. Thanks for the answer. What a pitty to hear Microsoft made it impossible to keep using one of the best graphical interfaces I know Thanks for all your efforts bringing it back as best as possible.
  3. Don't get me wrong, Aero Glass is really great, but as a graphics "freak" I wonder if the glass effect could be updated to be more like the real glass effect in Windows 7? Currently the glass effect is using a simple overlay with opacity, while Windows 7 is using a combination of a normal overlay and a blend mode called "Multiply" in Photoshop. I set up this comparison of Windows 7 and Windows 10 with Aero Glass where this effect is good to see: the darker areas of the background should be darker with glass, which can be achieved by reducing the opacity (used in this screenshot: 60%). But at the same time on colored backgrounds the 60% opacity is already to low, where I would need to increase it to get a more Windows 7 like effect. So I wonder: can Aero Glass be updated to use a combination of Multiply and Overlay as well? From the programming perspective, on this page the Multiply mode is described: http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-editing/layer-blend-modes/multiply/ "It's unique among all the blend modes in that it's the only one named after the actual math that Photoshop performs behind the scenes when you have the Multiply mode selected. Photoshop takes the colors from the layer that's set to the Multiply blend mode and multiplies them by the colors on the layer(s) below it, then divides them by 255 to give us the result." From my testings Microsoft seems to be using a combination of 1/3 normal overlay and 2/3 multiply blending combined with the overall opacity the user can set to calculate its glass effect.
  4. Is this possible in any way at all? I haven't seen any mod/theme yet that actually has a larger close button but smaller/same sized other buttons. I fear the internal M$ coding of the buttons in Win10 is the same and they all can only go to be the same width now - but I hope to be wrong as I also would like the larger close button back as it is in Windows 7.
  5. And that's what Microsoft didn't understood yet. It is good to try new things and every design will have it's fans, but poeple are different - MS can't just force people to like their design when MS change its mind so often and seem never happy with what design they have ...
  6. You're welcome. Okay, I can't take very much of the credit at all as I didn't write the code, but I HAVE been diligently over on Ivo's forum asking him nicely to make sure to support Aero Glass. To each his own. Dhjohns likes to prod (and so do I). I greatly prefer Classic Shell over what Microsoft has done. You might say that "choosy motherxxxxxschoose Classic Shell". Between Classic Shell, Aero Glass, UxThemeSignatureBypass, ModernFrame, some theme graphics replacements, and a little luck maybe might actually get Win 10 halfway nice to look at again. -Noel I love your attitude! Sound like my setup - and people might call me old fashioned, but I love the Glass look of Windows 7, it's one of the main reasons my productive PC is still on Win 7. I like Windows 10 of the speed and new features, but I can't stand the default look & feel when having more than three windows open at the same time and get lost in the "all white snow fog somewhere are window title bars". So "all" I want is Windows 10 looking like Windows 7
  7. I didn't know that I distributed ModernFrame.dll with AeroGlass for build 10240. So probably my mistake... You didn't distributed it, but as you said earlier in this thread you have this nice ModernFrame.dll for testing purposes and you didn't wanted to make a new thread for it. So I felt like getting it as well and have a test with it. Sorry if this confused you.
  8. My bad, I was sure I had it ... but of course you're right, I messed it when testing around - now I have it And yes, I know it's for testing, that's why I report that Edge is not behaving well with ModernFrame.dll - that's what testing is about, or?
  9. Ok, I got NoelC's png working and the GUI für Aero Win8 is working fine on my side. I also injected the ModernFrame.dll and it is also working fine. However it seems that the new Edge browser is playing it's own game. When I open it I see the Aero Frame appearing just like for any other App, but once loaded Edge is extending itself over the border, hiding the Aero design and also lacking the icons like close now:
  10. Sorry, I'm all new and I just got it working without atlas on Win10. What do I need to do to use the png/layout stuff? I tried with pointing the registry entry to the png, which worked but resulted in the same wrong effect RaphaelGreen mentioned. And how can I change the opacity value? The registry key ColorizationBlurBalance is not working on Win 8.1 as mentioned in the guide and seems also not working on Win 10.
