A few more random bits of software. I used to use Iconedit32 for creating new icons but I cannot locate the installer. Gom player is useless as is vlc player. Media player classic and wmp9 play some files. So I use a portable version of SMPlayer - portable 0.6.4. Installer works but nags about needing win2000. Plays most files but has a bug I can live with. When you open a file the program opens a dos box which if you then click the player window the dos box sits behind. Error message on shutting down the player. But as it does not install anything to the system does not appear to be a problem.

Hi all, I am new to the forum and have just built a new win98 box. I use it as my office workstation with CAD program and lots of graphics software which will not run on newer versions of windows. So i will run spybot 1.6.2 which still updates. I thought I would add 2 more items of software to the list. Solo antivirus from http://www.srnmicro.com/ I have used it for some time on the previous box. 30 day free trial with an annual licence fee. Well worth supporting.
