  1. The true and final fix is by deleting these registry entries which are related to Excel 2010:[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FileType\{00020820-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FileType\{00020821-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FileType\{00020830-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}] And I can confirm it to you, this problem only occured after I installed windows xp sp4 . But what the relation between Excel 2010 and right clicking/copying files with unknown types?
  2. The problem came back again after logging off and on maybe I need to reinstall Windows itself
  3. I fixed the problem by removing XPS viewer which removed net framework 3.5 with it! One of them was the culprit.
  4. Another discovery! When I make files with random extension they will crash explorer too if I right click them! for example file.xyz for some reason explorer crash because there is no app in windows to open these file extensions. Are you sure it is not a bug in SP4?
  5. Before trying another account I discovered something new. This problem only occur with (.tmp) files and it's not a problem in temp folder or any other files because I made fake (.tmp) file on the desktop and tried to copy it and yes explorer.exe crashed!!
  6. yes, even when I move the temp folder to another place it will have the same problem!
  7. Yes I can delete it.
  8. I made a stupid mistake by not backing up the original files before installing SP4 I hope that reinstalling XP is not the only solution
  9. Event Type: InformationEvent Source: WinlogonEvent Category: NoneEvent ID: 1002Date: 26/10/2014Time: 12:51:31 AMUser: N/AComputer: JAFFARDescription:The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
  10. After installing SP4 now explorer.exe crashes when I try to copy (ctrl+c) a file from (C:\Documents and Settings\my name\Local Settings\Temp) or sometimes when I right click a file in the desktop and other folders!!
  11. I don't care about security, the problem with IE8 is that so many websites don't work with it anymore!
  12. As you know Google had stopped supporting non-SSE2 CPUs like Pentium III and Athlon XP. Can anyone here compile a chrome/chromium version that works on these CPUs? Please help me because I hate Firefox! Thanks in advance
