    You have to go to Support section on Aero Glass site and follow instructions there.

    Just a heads up if you hover your mouse over the glass8.eu 1.5 download links they say .7z but when clicked on they want to save as .man. I just renamed to 7z once I downloaded it.

    I did a test and same happens to me the extension changes to .man using Internet Download Manager but when I use firefox to download it. It stays as .7z

    Have you tried modernframe by itself i.e. no signature bypass dl as welll? Modernframe enables the glass effect on modern apps, it's not really a theme thing.

    Yes ModernFrame-x64-Debug.dll works without UxThemeSignatureBypass. I feel BigMuscle has got ModernFrame working excellent own it own for Windows 10 RS1 but I guess he still got bugs to work out before he releases it as stable.

    Daveo did you rename your "ModernFrame-x64-Debug.dll" to "ModernFrame.dll" by any chance? Maybe the filename is the issue. I renamed mine to just "Modernframe.dll" so I had to change UCyborgs entry for that one. Just a thought.

    Tried that to. No difference. I'm not fussed as I rarely use Windows Apps.

  5. @UCyborgI followed your instructions and even deleted CustomThemeAtlas set under DWM settings key in registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM). But I still get the same problem when using UxThemeSignatureBypass. I've attached screenshots as proof. Also when using "ModernFrame-x64-Debug.dll" it causes error message as seen on cmd screenshot.

    It should work. Do you also have UxThemeSignatureBypass32.dll installed like 64-bit version? I never tried running without it, but it's a good idea that you install it as well. The only other idea I have, it may conflict with something else you have installed you're not aware of. I have Aero Glass, Classic Shell, OldNewExplorer and both DLLs and there aren't any problems.  I'd also run command sfc /scannow from Command Prompt, just in case, be sure to run it as Administrator. It checks whether you have any corrupted system files and replaces them with good ones, though this may not be it, given that things run well for you without that DLL.

    I injected UxThemeSignatureBypass32.dll & UxThemeSignatureBypass64.dll in to AppInit_DLLs as "C:\AEROGL~1\ModernFrame.dll C:\AEROGL~1\UxThemeSignatureBypass32.dll C:\AEROGL~1\UxThemeSignatureBypass64.dll". UXStyle works for me.

    Don't know where you got that info but the Aero Glass GUI tool works perfectly fine for me. It adjusts the blur amount and the color opacity. Ive never needed to touch the registry for this.

    Are you using Windows 10 Anniversary Build 14393 as AeroGlass GUI doesn't work for that. Even few people on here mentioned that. That why I had to manually change the colour settings on AeroGlass reg settings.

  8. 2 hours ago, JoshuaVL1988 said:

    Have you tried using AeroGlassGUI to set the color to black and then changing the opacity for the main windows to 0% and the opacity for the background windows to around 1% - 3% [also making sure to have the inactive windows set to use the black color using color balance] That worked for me when I tried.

    I've already posted after that. That I had found the solution.

    OK, thanks, it's much more informative and helpful than NoelC's reply! The only thing left is how to install #669 but I hope to find an answer here.

    How I install it is. Create folder "AeroGlass" on "C:\" then extract #669 to "C:\AeroGlass" then install "setup-w8.1-1.4.5.exe". That all

    You have to create a new DWORD called GlassOpacity and set it 0-100 default: 68.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM]
    "AccentColor"=dword:c41f1f1f
    "EnableBlurBlend"=dword:00000000
    "GlassOpacity"=dword:00000000
    "AccentColorInactive"=dword:c41f1f1f

    Save that as a reg file and set the values you want for active and inactive accent colors.

    Thanks MrGrim. After trying so many different settings to make aeroglass clear on Windows 10 Build 14393. Your settings there worked.

    Hmm, could you please point me to the "secret" release page? Because I see only http://www.glass8.eu/beta i.e. !!! EXPERIMENTAL TESTING BUILD ONLY - DO NOT USE ON YOUR PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT !!!

    So, what I should "read carefully"? Can I install this beta http://www.glass8.eu/beta?file=rs1_14393_668_x64.7z and use AeroGlass w/o debug window, label on desktop etc.?

    Or your meaning of "release" is a quite different? What do you call "release"? I'm professional software developer and too busy with my daily job and homebrew "moonlight" projects for UWP platform. I don't have time for testing and discussing here; what I want is to have a "worry-less" release of "AeroGlass", to make my windows captions semi-transparent...

    P.S. I understand, we are not a customers 'cause we didn't paid but donated. However a small appreciation to the donators is always very welcome (it's not for you but for bigmuscle)

    If you had already donated then you only just need to sign in on that link. Then you able to download #669

    New fields in the registry are used to govern the color and translucency.  That's why a new GUI tool is needed.

    For now you have to set the registry values manually.  I'm pretty sure the specific info is in this thread somewhere.

    Edit:  Look in the original post.

    -Noel

    Thanks. What you mean by original post. Do you mean the first post. As I can't find any info on here about it

  13. I can't seem to change the colour to clear. I'm using aeroglass 1.5.0.669 x64 on Windows 10 Build 14393.187 x64 and used "AeroGlassGUI" before to change it but now it doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone else having that problem.

    Yea this is a bunch of crap.  Total disrespect for testers.  Bigmuscle can't even keep up with the Windows Updates anymore, now he is locking down his testing releases.  What a bunch of bull. :(

    You just need to sign in and link will become available.

    Build #669 - Pre-release, 64 bit

    Same as #668 but compiled as release build
    Requires sign in to your profile

    This build is candidate for the final release. Public installer will be made when 32-bit version is finished.

    Thanks for the new test build. I'll give it a try soon and see if it works for build 14926
