    Donators have the finished final version, but not as an installer, They needed to send bigmuscle there Machine code for activation to work.

    I think bigmuscle is working on an Installer version, with key/serial activation without Machine code being needed for Public Release.

    I don't have a disk whereas I installed Windows 8 onto my laptop using the offline installer from Microsoft's website and I have no clue how to do the secure boot because once again I don't have a laptop that came with Windows 8 so I don't have that kind of BIOS that I know of isn't that only SEFU or whatever it is? I have no idea but I don't know what to do because I have waited over 3 hours and still nothing.

    Do you have a windows 7 Setup disc ? If you do, use it to get to Command Prompt and open regedit , so you can get to C:\ and delete DWMGlass.dll

    noobforlunch TRY this when you get back into desktop:

    0.Diable Secure Boot in bios.

    1.Make a New Folder on C:\ and rename it DWM, Now Extract DWMHook095 to C:\DWM

    2.Copy

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]

    "LoadAppInit_DLLs"=dword:00000001

    "AppInit_DLLs"="C:\\DWM"

    "RequireSignedAppInit_DLLs"=dword:00000000

    Into New Text Document and Save as LoadGlass__AppInit_DLLs.reg

    3.Use/Run LoadGlass__AppInit_DLLs.reg

    4.Use a Default Theme, Unless you know how to setup Custom themes regedit file to disable Theme check.

    5.Sign out OR Restart PC and hope it works.

    Oh god...if you're gonna direct people on how to do stuff, give them the right info or you'll be the reason they get black screens or it not working.

    Black Screen with DWMGlass.dll:

    1.Run/Boot into Windows 8 Setup disc, and Select Next,Repair your Computer,Troublshoot,Advanced Options,Command Prompt

    2.Type regedit and Press Enter

    3.Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,File,Load Hive... and Press Enter

    4.Select Computer Then Select C:\ Now find the folder where you PUT/STORED DWMGlass.dll and DELETE IT.

    5.Close all Open Boxes and Select Continue

    And Hope you boot into desktop.

    If you think people will benefit with your script, then make a seperate thread.

    Yeah, that's the point. This thread is about providing the first look at implementation for Win8.1 and not about providing scripts for hardcoding the library into the system. I coded this two weeks ago (yeah, I have not much time to code currently so I just provided what I had done before) and I have not tested it at all thus running it automatically at startup is insane. It also makes no sense to start automatically something which stops working after several tens of minutes. It really does not help anyone.

    Works Great at boot and login no problems here

    Tihiy does StartIsBack.Next overlap the start button (flag) in win8.1 preview or remove it.

    If it remove's start button (flag) in Win8.1 Preview can you make a separate program to do this ?

    OR

    Can you say how to remove start button (flag) in Win8.1 Preview ?

    As a lot of people would like to REMOVE the Start Button (Flag). Thanks ace2

    StartIsBack_TEST, closing with Start Button not used by me, (Running StartIsBack_TEST from WinX menu) so error with closing, WHO CARES.

    I would like to used that screen shot to present one of the Aero Glass features as "hey, look how you can completely change border skin without touching Windows theme". drakenabarion's screenshots look nice but they are too Win8-similar to present "theme resource change" feature and I guess CKyHC's screenshot is completely changed Windows theme.

    Questions:

    Are you planning on selling dwmglass.dll final ?

    If so how much ?

    what do you not understand, this is not Tihiy forum, and i do not have to follow his or your rules, as long as i am following the rules of the forum it has nothing to do with you, so leave me to get on with my posts in peace thanks ace2.

    As for against the expressed desires of the toy creator, This forum is in public domain, so Tihiy has no copy rights here and i can use toy as i wish.

    As for ProcessKO 2.82 it is not a hacking tool.

    As for Taskkill cmd it is not a hacking tool.

    This is an open and free forum for all, and as such all can express their opinions and findings and help each other, within the rules of the forum, and not MrGRiM ,bphlpt,Tihiy rules.

    This is not Tihiy private forum, If he doesn't want people like me having my 2 cents worth, he should of made a closed & private posting for testing startIsBack.Next.

    You are not being helpful at all with any of your posts, your just trying to find a way of making this a useable start menu without the need to purchase the release version, please just test this as it was intended and report bugs that can be fixed.

    Useable start menu is that not the point ?

    Trying to be helpful to NEW StartIsBack.Next TINKERERS / USERS, Tihiy does not need my help, to build the new start menu he's more than capable.

    My posts are to show how good StartIsBack.Next & StartIsBack.Next alpha is, and how it can be used.

    As for auto close, can it be done with StartIsBack.Next ? and it has nothing to do with (making this a useable start menu without the need to purchase the release version).

    So MrGRiM i would appreciate it, if you would keep your opinions to yourself, thanks ace2
