  1. So far, so good - great job (nothing annoying about updates - we love those)!!! Couldn't agree more Thanks Tihiy
  2. Some rewriting i planned will go to 1.3 since it requires testing. When uninstalling, does it still require logging the current user out? If so, a suggestion I have is maybe add a warning prior to the log off. When I uninstalled SiB (not b/c I didn't like it ), I was a bit surprised when it logged me out.
  3. Congratulations!! And a BIG THANK YOU. As a bonus, a short, easy to understand EULA too!!
  4. I too had no intentions of causing grief or dis-respect when discussing the activation system and apologize if it came across that way. I look forward to the final release. Good luck.
  5. And if you backup activation data before deactivating, you have both old and new activations working. This could be solved via a "Phone Home" system as Chrysalis suggested. When the user deactivates a PC, the activation server would mark the UID of the motherboard / hard drive as deactivated. Then the next time the PC using the backed up data accesses the Internet, the activation server would see the status of the UID and disable StartIsBack (similar to what would happen if the trial period expired). As of now, and please correct me if I'm wrong, once a PC is activated, the license lives and dies with it. It would be nice to move licenses, especially when it comes time to replace a PC.
  6. Congrats on releasing RC 1!! Upgraded from Beta 4 and everything went smoothly. I think the pricing is reasonable, glad to see you are offering licenses for multiple PCs. I understand you are probably still working on the online activation, but will we be able to manage activations online? For example, if I purchase a 5 PC license and activate 5 PCs, will there be a way to deactivate a PC and re-activate another (still 5 PCs total)?
  7. If installed for all users, how about adding a prompt upon logging in asking which style they prefer?
  8. Same thing happened to me a little bit ago then I remembered reading your post. It looks like the Metro screen opens then closes quickly. Second time and on, works as expected. I'm running Beta 4.
  9. Thanks for confirming. Messing around, I found the right-click menu in the same area does not work either. My thinking is that although the snap bar feature is disabled, the small graphical area at the top of the screen is still being "reserved" by Windows/Metro. @Tihiy - just wanted to say thanks for the program. Having the Start Menu while being able to take advantage of Windows 8's "under-the-hood" improvements has been great.
  10. Hi Everyone! I might have found a bug when the top screen edge is disabled. When using the mouse to select items on the Desktop (click and drag box), you cannot start the box from the top of the screen. The box can, however, be started from either the top left or right corners. I noticed this behavior in both Beta 3 and 4.
