Always run programs for configuring etc. as administrator. Avoids possible issues. It solves OPs latest problem, the one I quoted. I had the same "issue".

You can change the opacity settings using AeroGlassGUI. You can find it on the Aero Glass download page http://glass8.eu/download It's the "Testing version of GUI application to modify Aero Glass parameters" link under Others. Run the GUI as administrator. Select "Current User". Change to "Accent" tab. Use the opacity slider.
