thnx for ur replies i ll try both the methods n inform u guys if it helps.... its a user id of a diff comp on the lan one thing i forgot to mention is i kept on toggling between 4-5 ip addresses n mac addresses n computer names (was trying out some lan stuff) ... well could that be related to this ??

i am facing this problem ... when i type in http://localhost/index.asp IIS is asking for a password a userid which i never configured ....i dont have password setups for any account on my pc ...HELP .!!!!!

My Windows XP Professional with SP2 Is Installed in C: Drive ! i was editing registry, Successfuly Moved.. My Document, Shared Document to D: I also moved Shared Picture to Shared Document in D Drive & Shared Music & Shared Video to F: Drive. But couldnt move my profile(Including the 'TEMP' folder) to My Document folder (Now in D: Drive) this way [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders] & [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders] I edited The Envournment Variable to move the Temp Folder. (My Computer > Properties > System Properties > Advanced > Envournment Variable) I lost My Shared Picture directory Lots of problem Has Spawned; Evil or Very Mad 1) Cannot Use Alt + Ctrl + Del , It says Task Manager Has Been Disabled by your Administrator. 2) Cannot Enable System Restore (Every Thing got turned off after editing registry) 3) Cannot Access Windows Managment ! If U need More Info please Tell Me. Idea Tried Reparing Using Windows XP CD But No Use Confused I tried moving the Profile using User profile Section (Windows Managment) But, It takes a lot of time to logIn (So Dumped the Idea)

yep true. it looks like manageable to solder if i get that component but doesnt look like a very important component ... so what it i just bridge i.e, make the connection without the part will it work ?

i have 256 mb sd ram .... it started giving me lots of bsods... i removed it n saw this rounded part missing n the circuit over there is broken. is there anything that i can do ? what if i solder it without that component will it work ?? what does that component do ???

Everyone in office is going crazy because of this problem, we are losing all our important office files. There is no perticular event at which the error pops up it happens anytime even if the person is not typeing the document in word. We have lan at our office and this problem occures only on windows xp machines. following are the error in sequence ERROR 1 "There is an unrecovrable disk error on file ~WRL0002 The disk you are working on has a media problem that prevents word from useing it. Try the folowing: *Try formatting another disk *Save the documents to another disk ERROR 2 Word failed reading from this file(~WRL0002).Please restore the network connection or replace the floppy disk and retry. ERROR 3 Word has lost data due to a bad network connection or missing floppy.Documents relying on this data are going to be saved and then closed. ERROR 4 The document name or path is not valid. Try these suggetions *Check the file permission for the document or drive *Use the file open dialog box to locate the document (D:/My documents-NLA\...\NTPC TANDA.doc) ERROR 5 Word has insufficient memory. Do you want to save the "Rescued document 7" as rescued document 8? After the above errors a recued document is created which is useless because when u open it u only see unrecognised characters. What could be the problem? We never disable our lan connections its always on, 4 PC use windows 98 and 3 PC use windows xp and the problem is only with windows xp machine. Please try to help

I installed 3dsmax 7. I have 128mb ram and tnt2 16mb gfx card.When i run 3dmax i c the desktop background in the all the 4 grids. Is the problem pertaining to my display card ? doesnt 3dmax support it ? I have also installed directx 9c and latest detonators. ... PLS HELLPPPPP!

Exactly thats what i want to learn making an excutable that would run a script to do the same n no reboot required . I want that functionality of tweak xp to be exploited. Agree most of the ppl dont get that its as spoofed name space n think it to be a genuine error !

I tried that by adding it to batch but as Biohazard said it is same hitting the checkbox in folrder's property what i am looking is something like TWEAK XP does while hiding or protecting a folder ( i dont remeber what it did but tweak XP 4 has a functionality for hiding or locking it )

@biohazard dude i have done for that ages now yep it works for win 9x & me but not for XP those couldnt read those folders renamed with ascii junk characters i do have partions but dont want hide any partions
