  1. You got it Cartoonite, thats exactly the flow I want to happen. But where it should do the 'Administrator account autologon', it gives me the login prompt. I would like to do it without reg tweaks if possible just because it would be the only thing i need reg tweaked.
  2. thx guys, I can see where I will use this information for my home pc, but im making a UI for a ton of puters, so i only want it to autologon once so it will pass right by the initial logon and run the guirunonce automatically. After thats done I dont want it to login automatically with any account, just want the prompt. Do I have to use a reg tweak to achieve this??

Im trying to figure out how I can make the quicklauch show by default with my UI, but i cant find any documentation on it at all. Im thinkin: A. its so easy no one would bother to post it and im blind OR B. it cant be done Thx guys. Dan
  7. thx joe, all the systems(60-70) are clones, but thats a good idea, there must be some other tool out there to do it, and i'll find it.
  8. When using setupmgr.exe, it gives the option to include a text file of computer names. If im using the same cd on multiple computers, will it locate the network to see what names it already used from the file, or how does that work. Anyone know??
  9. good job to all mods, admins, members etc... this forum is right up my alley, lots of knowledge here, and lets face it knowledge is power how do i edit my profile though
  10. Im trying to research into whether or not I want to create an UI or a cd image. I need to setup(full format and reinstall) xp sp2 to about 60-70 machines in our company. Their all different hardware dating back over the last 2-5 years. I was going to RIS them but I dont have time to go to each puter to see whether or not they support PXE or others, so I figured id keep it simple and do image or UI. Im reading thousands of documents on how to setup for a UI and create the answer files and what not and each document I read has you do it a different way. I also read that if u make an image of a clean install that has all the driver specific hardware uninstalled(but not rebooted yet) would work for multiple machines, which would be best because of all the applications getting included. But im not so sure that is a flawless method. All I really need to do is make a cd i can drop in that will unattendedly(if thats a word), join the domain, customize install settings, possibly retrieve the SID from the DC, and take me straight to windows. Can anybody lead me to the best document for getting through this scenario? Or any other help is greatly appreciated.
