  1. That doesn't make sense. Either you still have the CAB in the list (like in the ini file you pasted) or your "fresh" source is not fresh. You say you slipstreamed SP3, was that on a fresh source? I mean really fresh. I mean ORIGINAL, MICROSOFT disk. If not, your SP3 is not fresh either. Ponch: You're absolutely right it doesn't make sense but that's exactly what happened. Yes, the CAB file was included in the ini file that I pasted. The problem is that in my frustration I must have deleted the wrong folder that contained the output files that from the clean XP folder by mistake but I as I said that was a clean source. Let me clarify. I have three versions of XP; one I slipstreamed SP3 using Ryan's Integrator, the second one I slipstreamed SP3 using Nlite and the the third is totally clean WITHOUT any slipstream additives ONLY SP2 which what is it's original format. That original is the one I did the final slipstreaming attempt. Meaning that it ONLY had SP2 and those errors still occurred. I have since deleted all the CAB files from my disc I even used Revo-Uninstaller to remove the installed Auslogics disk-defrag from my computer and then used registry mechanic to find any left over files and removed those too. I will add all the CAB files back except the Auslogics CAB files and I will use BB flash to record when I slipstream with Nlite. I Submix8c: The contents of each CAB is the exe file with the entries file. I made all the CABs with NLAOM. Geej: Yes, it was a "fresh" source as mentioned in my reply to Ponch. I think I understand how to access the procexp.exe if this error occurs again but I don't understand how to add it to the nlite slipstream process. Anyway as I said I have deleted ALL CAB files even those that I didn't have problems with and I am starting fresh with all new files. I will write back and let everyone know whether or not this problem continues to happen and I WILL be extra careful and NOT delete the files by mistake again. Thanks to everyone for your response to my dilemma.

  3. Hi: I am having a problem with slipstreaming isssues with Nlite. I had already slipstreamed SP3 and was trying to slipstream some CAB files but I keep getting the same error message about a the same file every time I make an attempt. The file causing the problem is a CAB made from auslogics disk-defrag.exe, which is a mystery because I have sucessfully made a CAB from that software in the past but for some reason I keep getting the following messages that the file is corrupt etc. I just downloaded a new copy of auslogics disk-defrag from Majorgeeks (6:00pm) and made a new CAB and I even used a fresh copy of the XP and I still got the same error messages. Finally, I decided to just NOT to include the auslogic disk-defrag CAB at all. So, I started the CAB slipstream process with a fresh copy of XP Pro SP3 thinking that everything would be okay but I was wrong I got the error message again. Last but not least I tried a test slipstream with XP without One Piece v5.40 pack and I still got the same identical messages yet again. Why is this happening?! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
  4. Hi Tripredacus: I thought I mentioned what type of motherboard I had but when I checked I see that I was missing a few details. My motherboard is P67A-C43(B3). Personally I think it’s a crazy that they have adapters as well as controller cards for IDE harddrives so they can be used with the SATA motherboards but yet there isn’t an adapter for floppy drives. I’ve had my Floppy for years and although I didn’t use it often I did use it and I don’t relish the idea of having to put out yet more money just to buy another version of something that I already have. So, that’s IDE, AHCI and RAID, I did notice those three options in the BIOS. Okay, so let’s recap…it’s a yes to the iaStor file but no to the iaHCI, got it. You say that the mass storage drivers would be the best option but when I read the list of the drivers included it seemed to be missing certain drivers that are included in some of the other driver packs (I didn’t download any of the 3rd party packs). I guess it just depends on what hardware you plan to install. I can’t speak for anyone else but I happen to like Windows XP. Maybe eventually I will upgrade but not right now because although Windows 7 has quite a few bells and whistles it’s also missing features that I’ve become accustomed to. I mean seriously what’s up with the bland media player? One of the reasons I’ve resisted upgrading to MP-11 is because I love how I can play with the colors in MP-10. Sure you can change the colors of MP-11 but they just aren’t half as nice as the beautiful shades of color I was able to achieve in MP-10. It would be nice if they come up with an operating system that allowed you to borrow features from various previous OS’s and that way you could customize it just the way you like it. Anyway…you say that the fact that XP lack of drivers wasn’t an issue when it came out but from what I read some of the current operating systems(Windows 7) come with other than just generic drivers installed. That’s not saying that I wouldn’t still have to use a driver disk depending on whether or not I’ve installed some new hardware, whose driver wasn’t built into it, but that Windows 7 and more than likely Windows 8 comes with drivers for the “New Age” for want of a better phrase. My sister’s computer is a Compaq Presario and her version of Windows XP is G*******_EN but her motherboard is SATA, and she has a Samsung SP1604N harddrive. My motherboard is the above mentioned but other than that my computer is generic (got it built at a computer show back in 2003). My version of Windows XP is V******_EN but the installation process shouldn’t be that different right? Let me see if I can clarify what I’m trying to say, basically when they come out with operating systems that are sometimes buggy and that’s what the updates are for. But my question is do they also come out with newer versions of that same OS at a later date that will have those particular fixes (drivers etc.) already built in? I ask because I just don’t get it how XP Pro installed on my sister’s computer with no issues what so ever but I’m having a hard time. I will try your iaStor suggestion and will get back to you and let you know what happened. Thanks again.
  5. Hi Tripredacus: Thanks for responding to my post. I know about the MSI website because I've downloaded all the latest MSI P67A-C43_B files a week or so ago, November 12, 2011 to be exact. I have a floppy drive, unfortunately, I can't use it since there doesn't seem to be an adapter(or so I was told at Microcenter) that would allow me to connect the Floppy drive to my SATA motherboard. I searched for information about how to find a work-around of installing the SATA drivers and found different posts about how to slipstream the files into the XP operating system and I did that but obviously I was doing something wrong. I know that the Intel_RST_Floppy_MB pack includes both iaStor and iaCHI files but above you only list the iaStor files so I take it that means that I DON'T need the iachi files then? What about the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver, that zip file contains a file called iata_cd.exe? I don’t need that either? I ask because on the MSI website it the description of the Intel RST Floopy & The Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver say that they are SATA drivers. I just want to be sure. In the mean time I will make a fresh disc with the only the iaStor files and will cross my fingers that this time the installation will be without issues. One more question. I know one of the major issues with the Windows XP OS is the fact that it doesn’t come with drivers for different hardware like the Windows Vista(I think) and Windows 7. Do you think it would be a good idea to download the some of the various driver packs from http://driverpacks.net/ and incorporate them as well and if so which driver packs would you recommend? Thanks again for responding to my post.
  6. Thanks. I had to try something since as I said that screen was flashing a little to fast for me to see the entire message. I tried using the original disk, not a copy but the original to boot from and it was a no go. I still kept getting the same error message. I tried your suggestion about checking the cables and that wasn’t the problem. The problem wasn’t the cables but the dang controller card! I can’t believe that card is malfunctioning especially since I only just purchased it earlier this year. It’s a good thing I happen to have another controller card but then again the reason I liked the first one I installed was because it has two IDE connection slots whereas the other controller card(the one I have connected to the board now) only has one. Well, the other controller card works and now I don’t just see the DVD drive but now the CD/DVD can actually boot from it. Unfortunately, I still can’t get the OS installed. The MSI P67A-C43-B motherboard came with a driver disk and so trying to be proactive I slipstreamed the drivers into the disk but maybe they are the wrong drivers which I don’t know how that could be because I got them from the official MSI website and they are specifically for the above mentioned motherboard. The only other reason I could think they might not work is because they are more current files than the ones on the disk. The reason I didn’t use the ones on the disk is because I’m not sure which ones I’m supposed to be using and there are quite a few folders with drivers. Okay, then I attempted to install one of my slipstreamed disks without the MSI drivers and I was going to use the F6 key…unfortunately, my F6 key doesn’t work for whatever reason. A little detail I forgot from past re-install efforts. I assumed that I would have the option to install the drivers after installing the operating system but then I get this error screen with the following error message “Setup could not determine the type of one or more mass storage devices installed in your system, or you have chosen to manually specify an adapter. Currently, Setup will load support for the following mass storage devices. (see image attachment) <none> • To specify additional SCSI adapters, CD-ROM drives, or special disk controllers for use with Windows, including those for which you have a device, insert a disk from a mass storage device manufacturer, press “S” • If you do not have device support disks from a mass storage device manufacturer, or do not want to specify additional mass storage device for use with Windows press “Enter”. I tried hitting the “S” key but I get another error message (forgot to take a pic of that one) about how it can’t find something or another. Then I try the second step of just hitting the ENTER key and it seems to be installing until I get the following BSOD. Is there anyone else with this motherboard or a similar MSI board that can tell which drivers I should integrate from the included driver disk into my slipstream disk??? Or can someone direct me to some drivers that would work with my particular motherboard. Thanks,
  7. How original is the "original" ? Are you 100% sure it was the same error ? The "original" disc is the XP Professional Service Pack 2 only, no additives etc. And yes, I got the same error.
  8. HOW do you know that? I mean WHERE/HOW did you test that particular CD/DVD build BEFORE this attempt? In ANY case, try again with only the CD/DVD drive and the SATA drive to which you want to install, you can re-add the other HDD's after completing (hopefully) successfully the install. jaclaz Hi jaclaz: You asked where and how I tested the CD/DVD build before attempting to use it? As mentioned (above) I’ve been using my sister’s computer. As for the how I tested the slipstreamed disc etc.; by using VMware. That other hard-drive really couldn't have been the problem because although the IDE cable was plugged into hard-drive it WASN'T plugged/connected into the controller card which is connected to the motherboard. Another clue was the fact is that although I wasn't able to install the OS (maybe it has something to do with the OS being XP or so I've been reading) I was able to see that the Seagate drive(code name matched the one I was attempting to install OS on) was listed in the BIOs screen as one of the booting options. There was no listing for any other HD other than that. I was able to find out what the error message was saying. You know, the one that I said was flashing too fast. I did that by using the video camera feature on my camera. Then I used VirtualDub to export the video into various screenshots. The error message reads as follows: “SETUPLDR: Couldn’t open drive multi(0)disk(0)rddisk(0)partition(1) What exactly does that mean? I know the disk is viable. I connected it to my sister’s computer which is an Compaq Presario SR1620NX with SATA capabilities and it picked up the drive right off the bat. Of course I wasn’t able to see the drive until I formatted it as a NTFS primary drive it but the fact that it showed up at all makes me think that the HD can’t be the problem but then again I could be wrong. I would really appreciate help with this problem as my sister wants her computer back, once that happens I won’t have a computer at all if I can’t get this issue resolved. Thanks,
  9. The "Press any key to bot form CD" ONLY happens if the Setup detects an already initialized hard disk, cannot say if you are in this condition. Can you check, and re-check the cables? Is your internal hard disk a SATA one? Is the (internal) CD/DVD a SATA or an IDE/PATA one? HOW exactly did you configure BIOS? WHICH EXACT motherboard model is it? (Crystal ball out to the shop for maintenance ) etc., etc. Standard Litany: http://homepages.tesco.net/J.deBoynePollard/FGA/problem-report-standard-litany.html (the more info you give - details are important -, the more likely someone may be able to give you appropriate advice) jaclaz Hi jaclaz: Thanks for responding to my post. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I had to run a few errands and then I had some things to do on the net so I had to unplug my computer and set my sister's computer up again as my computer obviously wasn't working. All my cables are connected correctly but I forgot to mention that when I attempted to do the install that I had one of my storage drives connected to a controller card? The hard-drive that I was attempting to use for my OS install has never been used. Why you might ask. Well, my previous hard-drive was an ATA/IDE drive that died on me maybe a month ago. Since that time I was using my sister's computer and during that time I was learning the art of slipstreaming and CAB file making. The bloody irony is that I've finally created the perfect slipstreamed disc(for me) with a number of my favorite software apps and some drivers and now it seems that I can't use the dang thing! FACTS: Harddrives 1 Main Drive is Seagate 500GB SATA(never been used) 2. Storage #1 - Seagate 500GB ATA/IDE 3. Storage #2 - Seagate 1TB SATA Motherboard MSI-P67A-C43 DVD-RW(Internal) Optiarc - IDE/ATA(PATA) I have no idea how to configure the BIOs unless you are talking about how to set the computer up to boot from a specific device. If that's the case I set it up to boot from the DVD-RW/DVD-Rom first and the hard-drive second. Thanks,
  10. Hi: Recently, I purchased and installed a new motherboard but just today got around to trying to install Windows XP Professional. I have the installation CD(my slipstreamed version) and everything is setup as it should be inside the case. Unfortunately, for some reason the DVD-RW doesn't seem to see my bootdisc (slipstreamed). A screen comes up saying what DVD-RW burner I have and then I expected to see the next screen where it says "Press and key to boot from the CD" and that NEVER happens. I get this other screen that says setup can't find something and then the process starts all over again. I thought that the problem might be the slipstreamed OS disc and then I tried using the "Original" disc and still got the same error message. I am at a total loss on how to resolve this problem because I can't see the error message about what the "Setup" can't find because either I'm too early pressing the pause button or too late. Is there some way to pause the screen and progress little by little until I get the part about the error message??? Help!!!
  11. -X- I take it the 9.0.5.0 version doesn't have a toolbar then? Thanks,
  12. Hi: I know that I'm probably late to the party so to speak when it comes to the news that there is a new Ad-Aware Free version 9.6. A new version of Ad-Aware is nice. What isn't so nice is that the Ad-Aware9.6 automatically adds the toolbar and changes your homepage to My link even after you specifically uncheck the boxes saying that you don't want either. Did I mention that this wonder Ad-Aware toolbar also has a feature called "Toolbar Cleaner". You click on it and it shows all the other toolbars that you've installed of your own free will but fails to show the one that you really want to get rid of which is the one that you didn't install...theirs! What a freaking joke! I am planning to use Revo to uninstall the toolbar etc. but would like to know if anyone knows where I can download the Ad-Aware 9.6 version that doesn't have that dam toolbar.
  13. You'd still have spaces in "My Documents" and before that in "C:\Documents and Settings" and probably in what follows. But I personally don't think spaces are the problem, rather the total length of the path and file names (which is a Windows problem, not nLite problem). I agree on all counts with Ponch. Again, short path names at the root, such as "C:\SlipFiles", avoids all those issues regardless if they are due to problems in nLite, Windows, or any other program you might run. Why ask for trouble when it's easily avoided? Cheers and Regards bphlpt: I will move the slipstream folder to the C: drive. Thanks again,
  14. You can get to all of these drivers using WinRar with the exception of the Intel Chipset. In order to get that one, I will install it on a PC. When it installs, it will extract the drivers out and put them in a temp folder. The ones you will probably need are in the folder called "ALL" however if you install it on an XP system you can check the log file to see which ones it uses. MSI is usually a couple versions behind, you may want to get the 1030 Chipset driver from Intel.com. You can find it by looking for drivers of any 6 series board in the download section. Hi Tripredacus: The only drivers that I can't access are #3 and #8 because they are exe files. The chipset drivers are no problem as they have .INF files. Thank you for the information about the 1030 Intel chipset. Um...how do I extract the inf files? Can I turn the .exe files into 7z files using 7zip?
  15. Hi -X-: I tried universal extractor on the .exe files and it didn't work. I am using Nlite but it's such a long and tedious process having to open one folder after another and add the files one at a time. Yes, I know you're supposed to be able to use the "multiple"driver feature but either I'm doing something wrong or that feature is broken because it doesn't work for me. Every time I attempt to use the "multiple drive" feature I still am only able to install one driver at a time. Thus my desire to make driver-packs that I will be able to install all in one shot or at least less time consuming fashion.
  16. Hi: I made my own driver packs or at least I made an attempt to do so because someone said it's better to use the manufacturers official drivers. My MSI motherboard consist of 8 drivers that I downloaded from the official website. They are the following: 1. Intel Management Engine Driver for P67H67 2. Intel Rapid Storage Floppy Driver (F6) 3. Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver 4. Intel SandyBridge Chipset Driver 5. Intel TPM Device Driver 6. Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 7. Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Drivers 8. Renesas USB3.0 Drivers Well, as I used the DPbase tutorial I found online where it explains how to use the DPBase step by step. The problem I had was that it doesn't really give you any directions on how to install the third-party drivers. Yes, it does tell you that you are supposed to put the third-party drivers into a specific folder which I did but for the most part it assumes that you are going to be using drivers from Drivers.net which I wasn't. So, I had to keep going back and forth through the various screens until I figured out what's what or so I thought. I did a test drive using VMware virtual machine. I noticed that after the OS was installed and while all my CAB files were being installed that this box popped up on the screen saying something about drivers and it looked like they were being unzipped. So, I was thinking "Hey...this is cool it's really working". Boy, was I wrong. It turns out that the drivers that should have installed in the Window/drivers folder were instead placed in the C:/ drive(See attachment below). DriverPack Mistake 1 DriverPack Mistake2 Obviously, I did something wrong. When the tutorial says that you are supposed to slipstream the drivers into the i386 folder I was thinking that it meant that you just click on the folder where the OS files were. I am guessing that the tutorial meant exactly what it said that I should have specifically chosen the i386 folder to slipstream the drivers into. That's what I get for not following directions right? I think the other mistake I made was that I had spaces in a few of the file(folder etc.) names but I'm not sure. There is also another issue I'm having with it comes to installing drivers. Sometimes the drivers DON'T have INF files. In this instance that would be #3 Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver and #8 Renesas USB 3.0 Drivers, they both consist of .EXE files(See attachments) and so I was wondering how am I supposed to install drivers when they're .EXE files??? Do I just ignore those and concentrate on the drivers that have .INF files or is there a way to install drivers that are .EXE files. Renesas USB 3.0 IntelRapidStorageDriver Basically, the whole point for me slipstream the drivers for the MSI-P67A-C43 motherboard so I can avoid having to pop the driver disc into the drive when installing the OS as that never seems to work out for me for whatever reason. I hit the F6 key and it's as if I'm not hitting that key at all because things keep moving along so I would like to avoid that by slipstreaming the drivers into the OS disc from the get-go. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks,
  17. Okay bphlpt, so it was you that suggested doing the drivers last. Thanks again. I was not referring to spaces in paths or names that are too long, as indeed this has been pointed to in this thread already, I guess Lapetite66 got the message. I was writing about people having issues putting drivers on the desktop for integration by nLite. I can't remember whether the problem was showing only when selecting "Integrate more drivers" or if the cause was unzipping files directly to the Desktop before operation, but some have ended with a whole bunch of files from the desktop in their iso, including some from the Recycle Bin. Can't find an example right now. Hi bphlpt and Ponch: I was going to say that I didn't have any spaces in my path name but I was wrong. It was Desktop/Slipstream Files. I changed it to Desktop/Slipstream-Files is that okay or should I just go with Desktop/SlipstreamFiles? " So, you're saying that I should have left the folder where it was but just make it a shorter route for example; a)My Documents/Slipstream-Files b)C:/Slipstream-Files bphlpt I followed your advice. There were some issues but not because of anything you said. I will be making a post for that after replying to this message. Once again I would like to thank any and all who took the time to respond to my questions; -X-, Ponch, and bphlpt, believe me it is very much appreciated.
  18. Do not jump from one problem to an other. Putting files on the "desktop" has been known to give problems as well (but I think it was more in the "drivers integration" module, if I remember properly). Hi Ponch: Thanks for your reply to my post. I was going to reply to your message yesterday about your comment about putting files on the desktop. First, I wanted to test my theory(or what have you) as I didn't want to say that something worked if it didn't. So, I went back and added the rest of the files to my nlite compilation; the CAB files I made and last the drivers I wanted to incorporate. As far as the drivers issue you mentioned, I believe I posed the question about when to incorporate them into the slipstream compilation and someone(I can't remember who) said it would be best to integrate the drivers/driver packs last. There were no problems integrating the CAB files nor the drivers. Thanks,
  19. X: I made a folder on my desktop called "Slipstream Files" and copied all the files that I would l need into into it. One Piece's Post SP3 pack was one of them proceeded with the test and everything integrated perfectly without any errors at all. Such a simple solution I almost feel a little idiotic that doing something like that never occurred to me. I am very happy and will follow the same protocol from now on. I even made a note to myself with your advice. Thank you very much your suggestion saved me a MAJOR headache!
  20. Shorten the path. Like C:\OnePiece_Windows_XP_Post-SP3_UpdatePack_v5.0.0_ENU.7z Please report back. X: Shorten the path? I am assuming that you are referring to the folder within folder situation. I will try to make a new path and see how that works. I read somewhere else about turning off my Anti-virus while integrating the pack. I really don't like doing that but I tried it and it did work. I will do another test run using your suggestion and let you know how that works out. Thanks,
  21. Hi Ponch: Yes, I have the original copy of the XP Pro SP3. However, I prefer to keep my original in mint shape and so prefer to use the copies made of/from them when reformating etc. Here is the attachment you requested. Last Session.ini
  22. Yep , just kidding. jaclaz Hey jaclaz: Well, I got the same alert again from Ad-aware with that file I downloaded for testing....so I just stick to making my own CAB files of software I like and want.
