  1. Hi, Ok so here is what I am looking for maybe someone can help. I want a SILENT (no gui/window) SFX module to extract 2 files (a .CAB file and .BAT file) and then run the .BAT file. The best thing I've found so far is WinRAR 2.90's GUI SFX module but that's 20KB+. Is there a something smaller (around 10KB or less) that would simply extract FILE.CAB and FILE.BAT to some directory (TEMP or whatever) and then run the FILE.BAT? And do all of this without showing any window/gui? It does NOT need to compress anything because the CAB is the compressed data--just extract those 2 files. Any help? Thanks.
  2. Hey everyone, I'm trying the hex editing trick with a program called HxD. But I always get "C:\...\.exe is not a valid Win32 application". I even took the sfx from this thread (the rapidshare link) and i did "copy /b mscf.sfx+...." and made an EXE. Then I hex edit that with HxD and make it identical to mscf.sfx that I downloaded from here and it works perfectly. So why won't it work when I try to get the MSCF.SFX from Windows xp sp2 update file or internet explorer 8? both those use SFXCAB but I can't make it work. Any help please?
