OK.. cracked it. I downloaded another version of the ISO and its finally installed Vista 32b Enterprise!! Seems that the ISO from VLSC.. "Windows" section, "Windows Vista Enterprise" "SW_DVD5_SA_Win_Vista_Enterprise_32BIT_English_32_full_int_MLF_X14-55954.ISO" is NOT the same as "SA" section, "Windows Vista Enterprise" "SW_DVD5_SA_Win_Vista_Enterprise_32BIT_English_Full_Int_SP2_MLF_X15-40259.ISO" I guess I learnt a lesson about ISOs... but I am annoyed at this as both ISO's DO state SA!. O well its done.. and Id like to thank everyone for trying to resolve this with me. Cheers. J

Well I cant help on that one.. I dont even know what that log is logging BUT im still confused with this. Im trying for a new 32b ISO now.. but Im running out of time on this project. I have a couple of days to resolve this before I will have to work on another solution

OK.. Im lost. For giggles I downloaded the 64b version of Vista Enterprise, burnt to a DVD and tried my answerfile.. it installed Vista Enterprise!!!!! Im completely confused. Sooooo.. looks like an issue with my ISO from Microsoft: SW_DVD5_SA_Win_Vista_Enterprise_32BIT_English_32_full_int_MLF_X14-55954 Hmmmm.. thoughts?? Im about to download the ISO again.. and also to look for another version of the ISO/DVD around the site.

You mean install "Enterprise", let business install then pull that log file from that location? Sure.. I'll do it now.

Ah.. maybe I wasnt clear. Nope, I only removed the Key from the upload. The Product key is indeed in the file when I try to install the OS. The code looks exactly like this: <ProductKey> <Key>XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX</Key> <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI> </ProductKey>

Well I tried that too.. figured it was an issue with the Disc.. but Enterprise installed fine. Its SOOOO WEIRD! I’m close to completing the 64b version of the DVD download and then I’m going to try that. I take it "install.wim" is generic and "blank"?? The unattended file dictates what version is installed?

Any extra thoughts? I tried it again today.. no joy. Business installed again. I wondered if it was becuase the Key I am using is "Windows Vista KMS" (but I have also tried our MAK key too) from our VLS Center.I am about to try a 64b version, to see if thats an option?!? I am really confused as to where business is coming from. I have even tried a fresh 32b Enterprise ISO from Microsoft again.. still business. Im about to give up on this whole business

Hello Everyone. Forgive my ignorance, I’m new to the sysprep/deployment world and I am struggling at the 1st hurdle. I have always just ghosted system’s in the past and corrected later errors, if they occurred. I am trying to deploy multiple systems using Vista ENTERPRISE 32b to multiple HP desktop machines that came pre-installed with Vista Business (this will be important later). I have used SIM to make an unattended answer file using the Install.wim from the vista 32b disk and a guide on an unattended install.. booted with the Vista DVD and USB key with the file and it was used..everything went fine. When the process is complete however.. Windows BUSINESS is installed and completed! I have tried multiple ways, checked that my serial key is indeed the Enterprise key, checked the image for Enterprise (it is) and I can’t work out why it is configuring Business. What am I doing wrong guys?? Thanks for any pointers (I've taken the s.key out) J
