Hi laura, i tried your method but as you can see in log file of installation that I attached, update failed. In the bottom of the file, you can see that update required source location of previous installation. I think that office sp3 wants to check files of original location. Is it possible to avoid this procedures during sp3 updates? Also, it's very strange that sp3 looks for cd even if sp3 file is full-file... This is big problem for me because we need to update around 1000 pcs with this update. Thanks for your post... log.txt

Hi again, I found full-file of office XP SP3 (OfficeXpSp3-kb832671-fullfile-enu.exe) and MS on their site wrote that this version of service pack doesn't ask for cd. I tried to install it but update asks again for CD. This is too frustrating... Please, help me... JaCro

Hi guys, I tried to install Office xp sp2 on client computers on my network and client computers were created from clone pc. On this pc, office was istalled from original cd. Now, when I try to install service pack on one of client computer, error message displayed and installation wants original CD. Is it possible somehow to bypass previous installation location and install sp3 automaticly? Thanks, JaCro

You're right... I need to add a group from domain to the local group "Remote Desktop Users". But still... does this user must have administrative rights for adding this group to "Remote Desktop Users" group? I want to add this with my logon scipt... Is it possible or not? Thanks, JaCro

Hi, I need to add registry entry for adding one group that allow remote desktop connection to windows XP desktop computers. It's only solution for me because we can't use Group Policy... I thought of using batch file as logon script that will add this registry entry locally... TIA, JaCro
