  1. Hi.

    Thank you for the program.

I tried to integrate Windows 7 x86 updates (downloaded by wsusoffline) into Windows 7 x86 Ultimate (just to test how it works).

    I get this error:

    capturewxm.png

I have the latest DotNet and the latest Waik.

OS is Windows 7 x64 latest updates included freshly installed.

The partition with temp folder has 200 GB free space.

    I have attached the log.

    What can I do...?

    WinIntegrator.2011-01-07T12-12-58.zip

  2. Unfortunately I have to use it because is the only one that can remove some Windows files/features that I don't need + many tweaks + I can make an unattended install.

I will try to use first WinIntegrator and then Rt7Lite...

Dism - I don't know how to use it (yet)...

    Later edit:

Oh, I tried to use WinIntegrator and it gave me the error "Cannot mount image".

It's not from the Temporary folder (it is set on a partition with 200 GB free space).

Second time I tried it said: "DISM exit code '87'"

  3. 1. why have you installed this hotfix?

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2398906

    You don't use more than 128 CPU(Cores).

I didn't know that is for more than 128 CPU(Cores).

I added these hotfixes from http://solor.wtf.la./Windows.7/Hotfixes to Windows 7 DVD (using RT7Lite) like I was advised in "Unattended Windows 7/Server 2008R2" section.

I looked at the description of some of them but they were too many to check them all.

I look at the dump and tell you the results later.

    Thank you.

  4. sorry, I opened the wrong file :blushing::angel

    No problem.

You have an issue with "driver locked"

So a device driver called a function to lock memory and for Windows to have it in RAM all the times.

Ok, but which program does that...? VirtualBox, Kaspersky...?

I can see that you use Kaspersky. Which version do you use? Is this the 64Bit version (I see that you installed it to C:\Program files (x86) which contains 32Bit application on a 64Bit Windows)?

I bought Kaspersky Antivirus a few weeks ago.

I couldn't find a 64bit version but, from what others say, 32bit version should work fine on 64bit Windows.

And with 2GB RAM, you should use a 32Bit Windows. A 64Bit Windows only makes sense if you use more than 3GB.

I'm using 64Bit because for some time I'm thinking of buying another 2 GB.

  5. I don't think I sent you the wrong link and, even if I did, what are the chances that it would be a data.rmp file also ?

Anyway I never used RamMap until now and I never sent such files to anyone.

I downloaded the file from the link and I searched for those names: nothing.

I uploaded the file on megaupload and I sent you a pm with the new link.

The checksum file is like this:

    ; Generated by WIN-SFV32 v1.0
    ; (Compatible: Total Commander 7.56a)
    data.RMP 58BC0DC5

  6. Very, very strange:

    - I have only 2 GB;

    - AVG and Comodo are not installed. I never even heard of "Comodo"...

    - Firefox and Skype are installed but on a different Windows (XP), on a partition that is hidden when I boot in Windows 7. In 7 I have only Opera and Yahoo Messenger.

Are you absolutely sure that you're looking in the data from MY computer..?

'Cause I searched the words "AVG", "Comodo", "Firefox" and "Skype" in this data file and I couldn't find them...

  7. I deactivated it in services.msc and restarted Windows.

Seems to work a little better now. My HDD is not used continuously anymore...

    Thank you.

I heard before about Superfetch but I only knew that it (pre)loads previously started programs at Windows startup. But I didn't know that is responsible with programs caching after startup.

A question: Prefetch from Windows XP was completely replaced by Superfetch in Vista/7 or is still used...?

Later edit: I said it works a little better but I'm not so sure that the programs aren't cached.

For example now I'm using rt7lite to add updates to Win 7 DVD:

    captureocn.png

Task manager says that I have 1056 MB cached and 47 free...

  8. I've been using Windows 7 for a few months.

I's better than Windows XP with a few exceptions.

For example the caching from memory manager.

It's designed to keep last used programs in memory.

It's good if the programs take less Ram and are used (restarted) frequently.

But if the programs are big and are used rarely it's worst.

For example on my computer I have 2 GB RAM.

I use VirtualBox with 1 GB memory set to a virtual machine. And I use it for a long time.

So, meanwhile, most of that memory goes to pagefile.

I close VirtualBox and I have to wait dozens of seconds until all the data from pagefile is copied back to physical memory.

By the way, on my computer the pagefile is not fragmented and is on a fast drive.

Anyway the cached memory from such programs is totally useless because I start other big programs and the memory manager flushes it.

I know that a quick solution is to buy more Ram.

But still I want to know if there is a way to (partially or completely) deactivate this memory caching...

Thank you in advance for any reply.

  9. After using this version for some time, the HDD been seen as "removable" is kind of annoying.

I have some programs who are showing a list with removable drives and I have to be careful every time not to select it + I can't know if there is a USB stick plugged in by looking if there is the icon displayed or not in the tray.

Is there a way to change it back to "fixed" (preferably during installation, not after)..?

    Thank you.

  10. I succeeded in integrating most of the drivers.

    There are 2 minor problems:

    1. The HDD is seen as "removable" instead of "fixed" but it's ok I guess;

    2. I disabled all from Unattended >> Network settings >> Custom >> Common settings >> Clients/Protocol/Services settings.

But I still see that most are enabled:

  11. I noticed a strange thing.

Until yesterday I integrated just the MCP 68 AHCI driver.

I tried to integrate also the NVidia Display driver.

When I tested the result in VirtualBox, there were many devices without drivers in Device Manager (instead of 2, like it was before). Installing VirtualBox Guest additions helped but not 100%.

For example I couldn't find one driver not even in all the driverpacks.

On some forums I read that is not advisable to integrate many drivers with nlite and that Driverpacks should be used in such situations.

Is it true or is there another solution...?

  12. Anyway I didn't understood why you replied "vlite" for my first question since I asked which updates to integrate not which program to use.

Of course I knew that I have to use vlite to integrate them...

When I replied in this thread I didn't asked only you, I asked everybody. I didn't created a new thread because the rules on any forum say to not create another thread on the same subject.

So I didn't understood your "Alrgiht!" either...

Finally, I gave up searching for a list with all updates. I think that Vista it's not worth all the trouble. XP and 7 yes but not Vista.

I'm not using Vista and I will never use it. So I will tell my friend that, for now, he should continue downloading updates as usual.

    Thanks anyway.

  13. Alrgiht!, I have your answer. For your question 1 use vlite. And for all the updates you wanted to download please tell me your download speed.

    Ok, thank you.

My download speed is usually 350 KB/s but on some ocasions it's 2..3 MB/s. For example from microsoft .com I download Waik with 2 MB/s.

  14. I have tested in VirtualBox and:

    1. Indeed I need the main installer for IE8.

    2. These updates are not helping much. For example with them Windows Update says there are 68 important updates and 42 optional; without them it says 73 important and 43 optional.

Where can I find them..? I mean a location where I can download them at once because I'm not so happy searching and downloading so many updates one by one...

  15. Hi.

A friend of mine has Vista SP2 and he wants to include the latest updates.

To post this message I tried using his account or making a new one but it doesn't seem to be working.

So I will ask from my account.

I used Windows Updates Downloader to download them.

    The files:

    Windows6.0-KB973540-x86.msu
    windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe

    A few questions:

    1. Do I add all of them or just some?

    2. For Internet Explorer 8 do I need the main installer? If so where do I find it in a form that can pe added as an update/hotfix in vlite..?

    3. Is there an addon for DirectX or do I have to install it silently in RunOnce?

Can you please help me and my friend?

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards, Cosmin3

  16. I just noticed something strange: the inf installation is only half executed. The dlls are not copied but they are registered.

I made 2 separate addons, one with the dlls uncompressed directly in %windir%\System32 and one with a simplified inf file:

    [Version]
    Signature="$Windows NT$"

    [DefaultInstall]
    RegisterDlls=DirectXRuntimes.Register

    [DirectXRuntimes.Register]
    11,,XactEngine2_0.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine2_1.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine2_2.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine2_3.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine2_4.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine2_5.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine2_6.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine2_7.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine2_8.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine2_9.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine2_10.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine3_0.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine3_1.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine3_2.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine3_3.dll,1
    11,,XactEngine3_4.dll,1
    11,,Xactengine3_5.dll,1
    11,,xactengine3_6.dll,1
    11,,xactengine3_7.dll,1
    11,,XAudio2_0.dll,1
    11,,XAudio2_1.dll,1
    11,,XAudio2_2.dll,1
    11,,XAudio2_3.dll,1
    11,,XAudio2_4.dll,1
    11,,XAudio2_5.dll,1
    11,,XAudio2_6.dll,1
    11,,XAudio2_7.dll,1

The inf file is uncompressed in the temporary folder and is installed with the command from my previous post. It's working well when is used in a installed Windows, I checked.

The dlls are now copied but not registered - inf file is not installed...

    What am I doing wrong..?

    Please help me...

  17. I even tried with another DirectX addon found at http://sereby.org/site/downloads - it's not working either...

    Later edit:

I also tried to make a sfx compressed file with Winrar. The dlls are decompressed in a temporary folder and this command is executed:

    %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 dxrt.inf

Where dxrt.inf is from the first addon.

    No luck.

Seems like during Windows setup the installation of inf files is not working properly.

    But I don't know why...

Oh, is there a way to "transform" the inf file into registry tweaks..?

I attached it to the post...

The installation of the inf file is also copying the dlls into %windir%\System32 but that can be made easy with the sfx.

    dxrt.zip

  18. It's this line here

    D:\Banc de lucru\Updates XP x86\Addon_DirectX32_9.0c_Runtimes_201006.7z

I've never tried a DirectX add-on, but my method works as well: extract it, delete the x64 CAB files and put it in a folder in $OEM$. Run setup.exe from GUI RunOnce with the /SILENT switch from the XP CD.

    Hope that helps

Yes, I know that this method works but I had my reasons when I chose an addon instead...

    Thank you anyway.

  19. I'm having a problem with the version that I'm currently using on my computer.

I installed a game, I refused to update DirectX 9 knowing that I have the latest version already.

To my surprise the game said that d3dx9_43.dll is missing. And indeed was missing.

I checked, it is in that DirectX addon and the addon is integrated in the installation files.

By the way, the other two version both have this dll after installation so it must be something I removed from Windows components...

I installed DirectX manually and the problem with the game is solved.

But I wonder why that addon is not working well during the install of this version...

    I added Last session...
