  1. SP2 and broadband connection

    rtrigz posted a topic in Windows XP
    I have been successfully using WinXP Pro SP2 RC1 and it has been marvelous. But, I have set up a new HD with Win XP Pro and downloaded/installed the final SP2 alas it stuffs up my broadband connection. It creates a second Wan Miniport (PPPOE) connection and the modem says it has a problem and tries to locate the IP address ..but I can still connect to the internet but it is obviously a mess. When I remove SP2 everything goes back to normal. I guess the next step is to wait and see if the automatic download next week is more friendly. If anyone has a suggestion as to what is happening etc I would love to hear.
