  1. Because it is the 32-bit player packaged for the 64-bit version of XP. If you try to install the x86 version on XP x64, it won't work. You need the version packaged for XP x64. To differentiate this version of WMP 11 from one for 32-bit XP, they gave it the "64-bit" moniker. The only true 64-bit version of WMP is in Vista.
  2. Ok, fine. I'll amend my statement. There is no downloadable 64-bit version of WMP.
  3. There is no 64-bit version of WMP. As you have found out, the x64 package contains the 32-bit player, but packaged for 64-bit systems.
  4. As long as you did not remove any drivers with nlite, then you should be ok to install on the other PC. Windows will just install whatever drivers it normally would for that card.
