Hey (again), This is my (hopefully ) last question for a while...When installing my uA CD I found out that my keyboard settings were incorrect. Like many others have said the english keyboard was left and not the language I wanted. I've tried searching, but couldn't find a good answer. Hey, After installing Windows my mouse and keyboard is temporarily disabled (god, don't I love computer switches? ) - and that's when Windows asks me to verify some of the registry mods I've made...Anyone got an idea on how to temporarily allow reg mods or allow all reg mods through MSAS? Cheers!

Hi, and thanks for all the invaluable help! Is there a timeline for when different registry tweaks can be set? I'm struggling with some tweaks that just won't stick at all...I've tried applying the tweaks in cmdlines.txt both before and after creating my default user, and also customizing the default user profile and just copying it in with the clean install. In particular, tab completion in DOS and the security center are bothering me the most. Any ideas?

Hi, Just noticed something today. I have replaced my boot logos successfully, and all seemed fine. However, right before GuiRunOnce (last thing to happen before that annoying twirly welcom to xp intro starts) my logo changes to the official one with a "please wait..." or something beneath it. I have deleted the original kernels from the cab in the distribution so there should be no traces left of it. Anyone know what to do? It won't kill me or anything, but it's annoying as ... when I've finally got something going Cheers!

I'm having the same problem. There are plenty of valid shortcuts in the all users quick launch dir, but none of them show up. If I try to move a shortcut from my quick launch to the all users one (after xp is installed) they still don't show up...

Seems I found a good solution! I've now two boot logos - one called "under construction" (I blatantly stole the graphics :op) and one called "blank". I've put the construction logo with my source, so it's installed with windows and gives me a nice "this stuff is being set up" atmosphere throughout the whole setup. Then, during GuiRunOnce, I remove this line from boot.ini (and then I no longer care about wfp) and set up my blank (from $OEM\$$\system32) as the default and use bootskin to skin it from then on. The reason why I even cared to make a blank boot logo is that bootskin has a small delay where you can see the old logo - which I do not want. If anyone's interested I can go into more detail... Hey guys, I'm back with a couple of questions I hope are easy to answer. 1. I'm trying to convert some of my cmd's into exe's using Quick Batch File Compiler, but these don't seem to want to run from cmdlines.txt. Any tips regarding this ? 2. I'm also trying to delete some files during WPI setup, but Windows tells me rmdir is not a valid command. I've also tried using winrar (sfx) to do it, but it doesn't delete the files like I ask it to. Thanks for any help!

Hey all, I'm making a bunch of Boot Screens for my unattended installation, and will, in the near future, make some sort of routine for changing between these (does this exist, by the way?) Now, I have followed the instructions under the unattended CD/DVD guide, but it still isn't working. I get the menu choices when I boot, but even though the files are copied I still get "the good ol'" windows logo. So...I'd appreciate any help I can get! To start off; if I name the boot files ntoskrnl.exe and place them in the system32 dir they seem to work fine. If I, like the guide says, place them under $OEM\$$ they do not. I've also tried placing them under $OEM\$$\system32, but that doesn't work either. Do they need to have a strict 8.3 filename? Is the placement \windows or \windows\system32? ntoskrnl.exe resides in \windows\system32... Cheers!

How about giving us some hint on how to make the exe-files ourselves? Would save you some work, and I have yet to find a good tool that actually works...

I call WPI.cmd from GUIRunOnce (winnt.sif). I used to call it from commands.txt, but it didn't work with some of the apps I installed.

Hi, there! I'm having some problems getting all my apps to install at once. I just tried to increase the space available to the test-volume, but there are still some programs that won't install at all. If I start up WPI and install just this one app it works fine... Any ideas? Cheers!

Hey, there! I'm having a small problem with my unattended install at the moment. Nothing big, but it bugs me bigtime I hope someone here is able to help me out! Attached are the files in my $OEM folder. The only other line changed since I last did a successful install (though I didn't make sure only one was created) is the GuiRunOnce calling WPI. The strange thing is I think it used to work properly until I installed WPI. After I started calling WPI from T-12 it created three users (Lars, Lars.DISASTER, Lars.DISASTER.001). Now it "only" creates Lars and Lars.DISASTER. I'll gladly attach my WPI config as well if needed. Cheers!
