  1. Sorry for the multiple posts. Nevermind about my last question-- although the KB article initially says it can't be disabled, it goes on to talk about how to disable it. (?!?) Microsoft logic, I guess.
  2. Searching for more info on DEP, I found http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...ct=windowsxpsp2 It says "By default, DEP is enabled in Windows XP SP2, and there is no way to disable it." So what does the BOOT.INI switch do?
  3. I have had the exact same problem after installing SP2 on my Dell Latitude D600 with XP Pro SP1, so you're not alone! I'll try the DEP suggestion. What does DEP do? Thanks.
